Review: Joshua and the City (Joshua)

User Review  - Michael Cremin - Goodreads

Another pleasant books about Joshua (aka Jesus) making gentle the life of this world. This time he goes to a city, helps spark an urban renewal, and generally makes things better for people. I love these books. They give me hope, even though the writing is...modest, let's say. Read full review

About the author (1995)

Joseph F. Girzone is the author of several best-selling religious children's books. Born on May 15, 1930, in Albany, N.Y., he received a theology degree from Catholic University of America in 1955 and was ordained a priest that same year. He served for many years as a teacher, pastor, and community leader, until ill health forced him to curtail his activities. He turned to writing to help support himself. Girzone has written several books, including his most famous, Joshua. Joshua, the story of the return of Jesus Christ to Earth in the 1980's, helps to spread the loving and caring teachings of Christ in contemporary society. Girzone faced many difficulties getting Joshua published. He took a job as a computer salesman to publish the book himself, and began selling the books through direct contact and word of mouth, finally gaining the notice of the large retail book chains.
