A portrait of Jesus

Front Cover
12 Reviews
Doubleday Religious Publishing Group, 1998 - 179 pages
There are countless paths to follow when seeking spiritual guidance, but thousands of years of religion and theology cannot replace the premier example that Jesus himself set for us. In A Portrait of Jesus, bestselling writer Joseph Girzone recaptures the truth of Jesus that is presented to us in the Gospels and gives a compelling vision of the person Jesus' contemporaries must have known. In his most powerful work since his national bestseller Never Alone, Girzone seeks to personify Christ in the minds of readers by asking some simple questions: What did people see in Jesus as He walked down the street? How did He approach others, and what would these people take away from meeting Him? What do His actions tell us about how we can live our lives today.

Amazing Book

User Review  - Redeemed - Christianbook.com

I rented this book from the local library to write a paper for my World Religions class. I've never read a book from this author. I feel in love with this book and could not stop reading it. I now plan on buying the book for my own personal library. It would be a great tool for a new believer. Read full review

About the author (1998)

Joseph F. Girzone is the author of several best-selling religious children's books. Born on May 15, 1930, in Albany, N.Y., he received a theology degree from Catholic University of America in 1955 and was ordained a priest that same year. He served for many years as a teacher, pastor, and community leader, until ill health forced him to curtail his activities. He turned to writing to help support himself. Girzone has written several books, including his most famous, Joshua. Joshua, the story of the return of Jesus Christ to Earth in the 1980's, helps to spread the loving and caring teachings of Christ in contemporary society. Girzone faced many difficulties getting Joshua published. He took a job as a computer salesman to publish the book himself, and began selling the books through direct contact and word of mouth, finally gaining the notice of the large retail book chains.
