PROCEEDINGS.

SEPTEMBER MEETING, 1891.

LINCOLN, NEB., September 10, 1891. Conforming to the requirements of the state law in this case, President John Jensen convened the members of the State Board of Agriculture this day at the Hotel Lincoln.

There were present the following officers: J. Jensen, President; Eli A. Barnes, First Vice President; E. N. Grennell, Second Vice President; Edmund McIntyre, Treasurer; Robt. W. Furnas, Secretary; Austin Humphrey, General Superintendent; W. R. Bowen, Superintendent of Gates; A. K. Marsh, Superintendent of Police; O. M. Druse, Master of Transportation; E. A. Park, Superintendent of Agricultural Hall; H. W. Parker, Superintendent of Art Hall; H. G. Clark, Superintendent of Merchants' Hall; R. R. Greer, Superintendent of Amphitheatre. Also the following members of the State Board, in addition, viz.: L. A. Kent, J. B. McDowell, S. M. Barker, J. M. Lee, L. A. Becher, M. L. Hayward, W. L. May, P. H. Barry, E. L. Vance, M. Doolittle, J. B. Dinsmore, M. Dunham, R. H. Henry, J. S. Hughes, W. H. Barstow, Frank H. Young, J. C. Warner, Lee Roy Judd. The following counties were represented by their respective presidents or delegates, who are by law also members of the State Board:

Mr. Wildman offered the following resolution, which was adopted:

Resolved, That it is the sense of this Board that the Board of Managers be instructed to use hereafter, at state fairs, one or more expert judges on farm products, to be paid such compensation as the said Board of Managers may determine.

Robt. W. Furnas and John Jensen were appointed delegates to attend both the Western District Fair Association, and the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, which meet in November next. They were instructed, if possible, to obtain our State Fair dates one week later than that for the year 1891.

The President was empowered at his pleasure to appoint delegates to attend such national kindred associations as meet at Chicago during the meeting of the American Fat Stock Show in November next.
