The assistant secretary presented the bids which were received on December 7th, 1917, and which were opened and read in the presence of W. F. Thompson, a member of the commission, and Mr. C. S. Metcalf, deputy director of finance. On motion by Mr. Neal, seconded by Mr. Thompson, the following resolution was adopted: Be it resolved, that the proposals received from the banks for the deposit of funds of the commission as read and listed by the assistant secretary be incorporated in and made a part of this record; and, Be it further resolved, that The Pearl Street Savings & Trust Company offering a rate of 4.26 per cent per annum interest on the daily balances not exceeding $200,000.00; The Guardian Savings & Trust Company offering a rate of 4.1125 per cent per annum interest on the daily balances; The Cleveland National Bank offering a rate of 4.06 per cent per annum interest on the daily balances; and The Superior Savings & Trust Company offering a rate of 4.05 per cent per annum, interest on the daily balances, being the highest bidders; now, therefore be it Resolved, that the cash funds in the hands of and under the control of the sinking fund commission for deposit for the period of three years beginning January 1st, 1918, to 'and including the 31st day of December, 1920, be awarded as follows: One-seventh (1/7) of the cash funds not to exceed $200,000.00 to The Pearl Street Savings & Trust Company; two-sevenths (2/7) of the funds to The Guardian Savings & Trust Company; twosevenths (2/7) of the funds to The Cleveland National Bank; and twosevenths (2/7) of the funds to The Superior Savings & Trust Company, in accordance with and under the terms of the proposals of said banks filed with the commission December 7th, 1917.
