PREFACE. The cases reported in this volume of the series of AMERICAN NEGLIGENCE REPORTS (VOL. XIII) relate to INJURIES TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY, decided in the State and Federal Courts during the years 1902-1903, being Negligence cases arising out of the relations of CARRIERS AND PASSENGERS, LANDLORD AND TENANT, MASTER AND SERVANT, MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS, STEAM AND STREET RAILROAD COMPANIES, and all other branches of the LAW OF NEGLIGENCE. Additional cases, prior to those decided in 1903, are appended to the Notes and Annotations to the current decisions reported in this volume. Among the SPECIAL NOTES on the various topics of NEGLIGENCE LAW are the following: Note of Explosion Cases; of Negligence of Alleged Representative of Master Causing Injury to Employee; of Injuries to Passengers and Others Riding on Footboards of Open Street Cars; Note of Cases in Which Release of the Claim was Interposed as a Defense to the Action; of Injuries to Passengers Riding on Platforms of Cars, which notes are contributed by MR.
