own principles; secondly, in the extension of its elevated doctrines, and benign spirit, among the nations of men. Truth may not be covered with a bushel. It must be disseminated. This is the law of moral beings. Who will hazard its penalties? Truth was made for the world. Let it have feet that it may run, tongues that it may speak, books that it may be read. A weight of responsibility presses upon evangelical Christians, which, unless discharged to the last article of its demand, like the stone rejected by the builders, may fall upon, and grind them to powder. Like the primitive disciples, many Unitarians seem to be tarrying at Jerusalem. While there may they receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. When they disperse, may it be to proclaim the gospel of Christ to the world, with a meekness that shall disarm opposition, yet with a courage that shall confront every danger, and with a perseverance that shall not relax, till christian liberty, light, and love are brought to triumph with a universal

sway.
