THE ALLEN DENSE AIR ICE MACHINE

Air at about 65 lbs. circulating in common small conveying and refrigerating pipes is refrigerated by the machine to 33°
below zero when the seawater is at 90°. There are no auxiliary parts outside of the machine. It is placed in the engine
room, ice-making box and meat-room forward as usual.

Half ton vertical (3' 6" x 3') furnishes ice and refrigerates meat-room, etc. for steam

yachts of 200 feet length, including "Virginia."

1 ton vertical (4' x 4') or horizontal (7' x 3' 6") for steam yachts 250' length,

including "Atalanta" and "Oneida."

2 ton horizontal (9' x 4' 6") for larger yachts ("Josephine") and oil steamers, etc. 3 ton (9' 6" x 5') U. S. men of war (single on "Pennsylvania," "Colorado," etc. In duplicate or more on modern battleships.)
