I AM well pleased that the Lord hath heard

the voice of my prayer.

That he hath inclined his ear unto me therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous

The Lord preserveth the simple: I was in misery, and he helped me.

:

Turn again then unto thy rest, O my soul for the Lord hath rewarded thee.

And why? thou hast delivered my soul from death mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be; world without end. Amen.

Then all kneeling, the following Prayers; the
Master first saying,

The Lord be with you.
And with thy spirit.

Let us pray.

O teach us to number our days,

That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Turn thee again, O Lord, at the last,
And be gracious unto thy servants.

O satisfy us with thy mercy, and that soon; So shall we rejoice and be glad all the days of our life.

Shew thy servants thy work,
And their children thy glory.

And the glorious Majesty of the Lord our God be upon us.

Prosper thou the work of our hands upon us, O prosper thou our handy work,

following.

GOD, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works do proceed; Give unto thy servants that peace which the world cannot give; that both our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and also that by thee, we being defended from the fear of our enemies, may pass our time in rest and quietness; through the merits of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

For Daily Renewal.

A LMIGHTY God, who hast given us thy only

begotten Son to take our nature upon him, and as at this time to be born of a pure Virgin; Grant that we being regenerate, and made thy children by adoption and grace, may daily be renewed by thy Holy Spirit, through the same our Lord Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

For the Ministry of Angels.

EVERLASTING God, who hast ordained and constituted the services of Angels and men in a wonderful order; Mercifully grant, that as thy holy Angels alway do thee service in heaven,

so by thy appointment they may succour and defend us on earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. For Deliverance in Death.

LORD God most holy, O Lord most mighty,

O holy and most merciful Saviour, deliver us not into the bitter pains of eternal death.

Thou knowest, Lord, the secrets of our hearts; shut not thy merciful ears to our prayer; but spare us, Lord most holy, O God most mighty, O holy and merciful Saviour, thou most worthy Judge eternal, suffer us not, at our last hour, for any pains of death to fall from thee. Amen.

If there are any Prayers or Thanksgivings proper for the Day, they may be inserted here, or substituted for one or more of those that follow. Prayers for Children, &c., are to be found in the Second Part.

Thanksgiving for the Faithful departed.

ALMIGHTY God, with whom do live the spirits

of them that depart hence in the Lord, and with whom the souls of the faithful, after they are delivered from the burden of the flesh, are in joy and felicity; We give thee hearty thanks for that it hath pleased thee to deliver many of our brethren out of the miseries of this sinful world. We meekly beseech thee, O Father, to raise us from the death of sin unto the life of righteousness; that, when we shall depart this life, we may rest in him, as our hope is these our brethren do; and that it may please thee, of thy gracious goodness, shortly to accomplish the number of thine elect, and to hasten thy kingdom: that we, with all those that are departed in the true faith of thy holy Name, may have our perfect consummation and bliss, both in body and soul, in thy eternal

and everlasting glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Praised be the Lord daily.

Who holdeth our souls in life.
And suffereth not our foot to slip.
Who taketh pleasure in his people.
And beautifieth the meek with salvation.
The Lord is their everlasting light.
And the days of their mourning are ended.
The Throne of God and the Lamb is there.
And they shall reign for ever and ever.

Concluding Prayer.

Amen.

PREVENT us, O Lord, in all our doings, with thy most gracious favour, and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify Thy holy Name, and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Benedictory Prayer.

GOD the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost,

bless us; and the Almighty Lord, who is a most strong tower to all them that put their trust in him, to whom all things in heaven, in earth, and under the earth, do bow and obey, be now and evermore our defence; and make us know and feel, that there is none other name under heaven given to man, in whom, and through whom, we may receive health and salvation, but only the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

HOSOEVER will be saved things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic Faith.

Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled : without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.

And the Catholic Faith is this: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; Neither confounding the Persons: nor dividing the Substance.

For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son and another of the Holy Ghost.

But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one: the Glory equal, the Majesty co-eternal.

Such as the Father is, such is the Son : and such is the Holy Ghost.

The Father uncreate, the Son uncreate and the Holy Ghost uncreate.

The Father incomprehensible, the Son incomprehensible and the Holy Ghost incomprehensi
