50 CENTS A YEAR

[blocks in formation]

Can you send us a copy of EDUCATION for September, 1895? We offer a year's subscription for 1908 in return for this single number.-The Publishers.

A complete set of the bound volumes of EDUCATION, 27 in number, together with a copy of a complete Index of the first 25 volumes, is a splendid encyclopædia of educational information. We can furnish one or possibly two more sets, and that is all. What library will speak before it is too late?

EDUCATION for the school year beginning with the September number will offer an exceptionally rich and helpful table of contents. It is too early to give a detailed prospectus of the September number, but we can promise definitely a fine article continuing our "How-to-Teach" Series; this time from the pen of Professor Frederick H. Somerville, of the William Penn Charter School, Philadelphia, whose subject will be " Teaching Elementary Algebra." The first of two articles upon the important subject of " The Teacher's Health," by Professor T. S. Lowden, of the State Normal School, Platteville, Wis., will appear in this number. In each number throughout the next school year we shall publish a helpful historical “Outline of One of the World's Great Leaders." These Outlines are prepared by Supervising Principal Arthur Deerin Call, of Hartford, Conn., and the one for September will be on Siddartha Gautama, Buddha, the Enlightened One. Miss Kingsley will furnish another set of Examination Questions, on "Franklin's Autobiography" Other choice papers and the usual Editorials, Foreign Notes, Book Notices, etc., will make up a number which will be a foretaste of the good things to follow during the year.
