Applications should be obtained as (Including penmanship). Practical questions. All the qualifications that may be necessary to fill the position of a first grade clerk, together with a knowledge of legal procedure involved in the transaction of business in the municipal courts, which include all the sections of the general code, pertaining to the laws, rules and regulations governing the same. 5. Clerical experience tending to qualify applicants to perform the duties of the position, certified to the satisfaction of the commission, will be considered and given weight as a subject of the examination. NOTICE: Two eligible lists will be established from this examination, one covering positions of deputy clerks whose duties are limited to clerical work, and the other covering positions of deputy clerks whose duties include typewriting. The latter list, deputy clerk (typist), will comprise the names of all eligibles on the deputy clerk list who have, subsequent to the establishment of said list, taken and passed a prescribed qualifying test in typewriting. AGE REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be not less than 21 years of age on the date of examination. NOTICE OF CHANGES IN THE SALARY LIMITATIONS OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PERSONAL SERVICE. ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION ON FEBRUARY 1st, 1922. "Resolved, that the salary limitations of the standard specifications for personal service be waived to the extent: That a salary reduction of ten per cent (10%) is hereby authorized in the stenographic and typing services; That a salary decrease in all the services outside of the typing and stenographic services, be made accordingly, the amount of the decrease at the discretion of the directors, but within the limitations of the said grade; That the salaries of all employees hereinafter entering the service in any grade, shall commence at a salary equal to ten per cent (10%) less than the present scale for said grade of service as provided in the standard specifications; Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the commissioner of purchases and supplies, room 219, city hall, until 12:00 o'clock noon, February 23rd, 1922, and will be opened and read immediately thereafter in the council chamber for furnishing asphalt to the division of streets. NOTICE OF PROPOSAL Notice is hereby given that on the first Monday in March, 1922, (March 6, 1922), sealed proposals will be received and opened at 10 o'clock A. M., in the office of the mayor of the city of Cleveland, from all banks situated within Cuyahoga county, stipulating the rate of interest such banks will pay respectively for the use of so much of the public money coming into the hands of the treasurer of the city of Cleveland as shall not exceed the aggregate of the paid in capital stock and surplus of such bidding bank; such use of such money to be from the first day of July next, (July 1, 1922), to and including the thirtieth day of June three years thereafter, (June 30, 1925). The proposals under this advertisement must be filed on or before the first Monday in March, 1922, at 10 o'clock A. M., in the office of the mayor of the city of Cleveland, and the bid or proposal made by each bank must conform to all the requirements of the law of the state of Ohio as found in section 4295 of the general code, and in sections 154 to 167 of the municipal code of the city of Cleveland. Blanks for bids will be furnished upon application at the office of the treasurer of the city of Cleveland, Each bid must state the name of the bank bidding, the amount of the paid in capital stock and the surplus of such bank, and that the proposal is made subject to law and ordinances as above set forth. Any bank bidding for active money may also submit one or more bids for inactive money and each bid shall state whether it is for active or inactive money. (Active money shall be money subject to withdrawal at any time without previous notice. Inactive money shall be such as is deposited with an agreement that it shall remain undisturbed for stipulated periods of not less than six (6) months.)
