In Hebrew. Edited and published by Perez Smolensky. German title: Beobachter. After no. 8 the editor decided to have two fortnightlies, appearing alternately, instead of one weekly. Ha-Mabbit, as a fortnightly, is to be devoted to matters of general interest, whilst paper, named Ha-Mabbit le-Yisrael (German title: Israel. Beobachter) is to be devoted solely to matters Jewish. As a matter of form, in compliance with certain requirements of the Austrian press law, A. Wagner is given as "verantwortlicher Redacteur" for Ha-Mabbit and A. Rudoll for Ha-Mabbit leYisrael. In all there were published seventeen numbers of Ha-Mabbit and nine numbers of Ha-Mabbit le-Yisrael.
