First issue published Dec. 21, 1719 by William Brooker, who continued the paper until Sept. 19, 1720. From Sept. 26, 1720 to May 17, 1725 the publisher was Philip Musgrave. Beginning, presumably, with the issue of May 24, 1725, the paper was published by Thomas Lewis until April 18, 1726; from April 25, 1726 to Jan. 9, 1727, by Henry Marshall and Thomas Lewis, and from Feb. 6, 1727 to Oct. 2, 1732 by Henry Marshall alone. On Nov. 20, 1732 the publication of the paper assunied by John Boydell. The Library has the following file:

John Boydell died Dec. 11, 1739, but the publication of the paper was continued by his heirs until the death of his widow, Mrs. Hannah Boydell, Oct. 15, 1741. With the issue of Oct. 20, 1741 the publication of the paper was assumed by Kneeland and Green, who incorporated with it The New-England Weekly Journal under the title of The Boston Gazette, or, New England Weekly Journal. With the next issue the title was changed to The Boston Gazette, or, Weekly Journal, of which the Library has the following file:
