wharf from the lands of Alfred Sisson, in Portsmouth, east of the Bristol Ferry wharf, into the waters of Narragansett bay, not exceeding three hundred and fifty feet in length, and one hundred and fifty feet in width: Provided, however, that the assent of Alfred Sisson be obtained for the erection of the said wharf, before the commencement of work thereon. Passed May 31, AN ACT IN AMENDMENT OF AN ACT ENTITLED "AN ACT TO 1877. INCORPORATE THE PROPRIETORS OF SWAN POINT CEME TERY." It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. Section 8 of "An act to incorporate the proprietors of Swan Point Cemetery," passed at May session, A. D. 1858, is hereby amended by striking out the words "containing not less than three hundred square feet." SEC. 2. This act shall take effect from and after its passage, and all acts or parts of acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. Passed June 1, AN ACT IN ADDITION TO AN ACT ENTITLED 1877. "AN ACT ΤΟ INCORPORATE OAK HILL CEMETERY, OF WOONSOCKET." It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. Any lot owner in said cemetery may at any time by deed or will, convey or devise any lot or parcel of land therein, then owned by him in his own right in fee simple, to this corporation, to hold the same in perpetual trust for such uses and purposes, consistent with the objects of the corporation, as may be in such trust deed or devise declared; and any persons may convey, devise or bequeath any estate, real or personal, to this corporation to hold the same in perpetual trust to apply the same or the proceeds or income thereof to the care, support or improvement of said cemetery grounds or any part thereof or any lot or monument or structure therein: Provided, that no such trust as is named in either of the above clauses shall be binding or obligatory upon the corporation until the same has been accepted by the unanimous vote of all the trustees for the time being duly recorded. AN ACT IN AMENDMENT OF THE ACT ENTITLED "AN ACT TO It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. Section 4 of the act passed at the Janu. ary session, A. D. 1857, entitled "An act to incorporate the Trustees of the Benefit street Ministry at Large, in the city of Providence," is hereby amended by striking out, towards the latter part thereof the words " and the minister at large appointed by said trustees." SEC. 2. This act shall take effect immediately upon its passage. Passed June 1, 1877. AN ACT IN AMENDMENT OF AN ACT, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO Passed June 1, It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. Section 3 of said act is hereby stricken out and repealed, and the following inserted in place thereof, viz.: "Sec. 3. Any member of said police force, who after a continuous service therein of five or more years, leaves said force honorably, may continue to be a member of the corporation by conforming to the by-laws thereof. When any member of said police force, after a service of less than five years therein, shall cease to be a member thereof, he shall thereafter cease to be a member of the corporation, and shall have no claim upon any of the property of said corporation, but the said corporation may in its discretion, continue to render him aid and assistance, if found necessary." SEC. 2. This act shall take effect from and immediately after its passage. Passed May 31, AN ACT TO MAKE VALID THE ACTS OF ORVILLE PECKHAM AND It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. All acts, matters and things done or performed by Orville Peckham and Edward O. Brown, respectively, as commissioners of this state for the state of Illinois, appointed and commissioned in A. D. 1872, and sworn before a justice of the peace in this state, but not sworn in said Illinois, are hereby made and declared to be as valid and effectual in every respect as if said Orville and Edward had, respectively, before performing any duty of their said offices, taken and subscribed before a justice of the peace or other officer authorized to administer oaths in said Illinois, the oath prescribed for such commissioners by the statutes of this state, and had filed a certificate thereof in the office of the secretary of state of this state, within six months after the taking of the same. SEC. 2. This act shall take effect immediately. Passed June 1, 1877. AN ACT TO INCORPORATE THE BRISTOL CORNET BAND, IN It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: SECTION 1. Thomas Hudson, John H. H. Mott, John H. Mott, Ingie W. Pierce, Edward T. Nichols, Frank L. Hoar, James H. Hoar, James R. Hart, William F. Hart, Consider Burnham, Sylvester W. Carr, Samuel R. Mott, Gustavus T. Mott, James P. Terry, Albert S. W. Davis, Benjamin R. Wilson, Oliver C. Pearce, William F. Pearce, William H. Middleton, Henry A. Middleton, Frank McCarty, Alvin F. Cole, Lucius E. Chadwick, their associates and successors, are hereby made a corporation by the name of the Bristol Cornet Band, for the purpose of establishing, keeping up and maintaining a brass band, in the town of Bristol, and for the purpose of practising and improving themselves in the art of music, with all the powers and privileges, and subject to all the duties and liabilities set forth in chapter 139 of the General Statutes, and in any acts in amendment thereof or in addition thereto. and SEC. 2.
