The General Assembly convened at Newport, on the last Tuesday in May, 1877, (being the 29th day of the month,) in conformity with the provisions of Article 4, of the Constitution, as amended by the electors on the first Tuesday of November, 1854; and adjourned on Friday, the 1st day of June, to meet in Providence, on Tuesday, the 22d day of January, 1878, at 11 o'clock, A. M.
