All Saints' Day

(November 1).

The Collect.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast knit together Thine elect in one communion and fellowship, in the mystical body of Thy Son Christ our Lord; Grant us grace so to follow Thy blessed Saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those unspeakable joys, which Thou hast prepared for those who unfeignedly love Thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Sentence.

HE souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them. In the sight of the unwise, they seemed to die, and their going from us to be utter destruction; but they are in peace. Wisdom 13 : 1, 2.

Thanksgiving Day.

The Collect.

MOST merciful Father, who hast blessed the labors of the husbandman in the returns of the fruits of the earth; we give Thee humble and hearty thanks for this Thy bounty; beseeching Thee to continue Thy loving-kindness to us; that our land may still yield her increase, to Thy glory and our comfort; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Sentence.

EVERY good gift and every perfect gift is from above; and cometh down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. St. James 1:17.

Ember Days.

The Collect.

LMIGHTY God, the giver of all good gifts, who of Thy divine providence hast appointed divers Orders in Thy Church; Give Thy grace, we humbly beseech Thee, to all those who are to be called to any office and administration in the same; and so replenish them with the truth of Thy doctrine, and endue them with innocency of life, that they may faithfully serve before Thee, to the glory of Thy great Name, and the benefit of Thy holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ND He gave some, Apostles; and some, Prophets; and some, Evangelists; and some, Pastors and Teachers; for the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the Ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ. Eph. 4:11, 12.

LMIGHTY God, who hast ordained the seed-time and the harvest, we beseech Thee to bless the crops of the field and the kindly fruits of the earth, that the sower may sow in joy and the reapers gather their sheaves in gladness, to the glory of Thy Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Sentence.

ONOR the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase; so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Prov. 3:9, 10.
