Indeed, the Psalmist says: There went up a smoke out of His nostrils (Ps. xviii. 8). Hence the words and DEN are used for nose or nostrils as well as for anger. In Isaiah xlviii. 9 we find DON, which both Jarchi and Kimchi suppose to be a verb formed of the אַאֲרִיךְ אַפִּי a nose), and to be parallel with the expression) חֹסֶם Chaldee noun by which it is preceded in the same verse. |
