CONVEYANCE OF BOATS AND CANOES.

Small Boats and Canoes that can be conveyed in a Guard's Van, and do not require the special use of a vehicle, are charged id. per mile, with a minimum of 2s. 6d. The minimum charge for a Collapsible Canoe is Is.

Boats and Canoes requiring a truck or trucks are charged 3d. per mile for first truck, and 2d. per mile for each additional truck, with a minimum charge of 7s. 6d. for first truck, and 5s. for each additional truck, at owners' risk. When more Boats than one can be loaded safely on the same truck or trucks, the extra Boats are charged as follows

When belonging to the same owner, for each extra Boat 25 per cent. of the charge for the first Boat.

When not belonging to the same owner, no reduction is made.

Boats conveyed on carriage trucks, when accompanied by the crew or other men (not less than four in number), are charged two-thirds of the above rates; in all cases by special agreement. The reduction is made only one way if the crew, or other men, accompany the Boat only one way, but is made both ways if they accompany the Boats both going and returning.

The time within which Boats may be sent to and returned from Regattas extends from a week before to a week after the Regatta.

The above rates apply from Station to Station only, and in all cases on the understanding that the owner takes all risks of loading, unloading, and carriage.

This newly-built Hotel is beautifully situated on the banks of the Thames (the large Lawn being only separated from the River by the towing-path), and commands uninterrupted views of Marlow, Hedsor, Cookham, Cliveden, Maidenhead, that grand stretch of water from Marlow to Cookham, and Quarry Woods (after which it is named, being in close proximity to them), close to the best fishing on the Thames, an opposite the finishes of all the Upper Thames Sailing Club Matches.

The Hotel is bounded at the back by an immense common of over 100 acres in extent, suitable for cricket and other sports; on the sides by a large Garden and Tennis Court; in the front the River. It is standing quite by itself, there being no other houses near, and yet within five minutes of Bourne End Station, from which London is reached in an hour by a splendid service of trains. It is recommended by medical men as being in a very healthy situation. Maidenhead can be reached by water in an hour, Marlow in half an hour, and Henley in two hours and a half, inaking it in the very centre of the best river scenery in England.
