THE SUPPLEMENT to this work, of Omissions, Corrections, and Additions, having increased to a much greater bulk than was expected, will be published in a separate volume, together with a complete GENERAL INDEX, in which the works relating to particular places and subjects, will be arranged under their respective heads. For example, under COLUMBUS will be placed a list of all the books which have been published relating to him and his voyages: under VIRGINIA, all those relating to that Colony and State, &c.; and will comprise the books printed before 1700 as well as those printed since. N.B. Mr. Rich has in his possession the greater part of the books described in this work, from which he could supply the Public Libraries and Colleges in the United States, with such as may be wanting in their collections; most of the modern voyages, travels, &c., at very low prices. |
