PUBLIC PROMENADE DRESS. - Fawn-coThe majority of redingotes in half-dress have the corsages open nearly to the waist, or else loured silk redingote; a high close-fitting corsage, they are à la Raphael. This last form is quite descending in a sharp point, and trimmed down as much in favour as ever. Sleeves are almost the front with a row of brandebourgs of the invariably a three-quarter length: I observe that same colour: they are of a novel form. The those terminating in the horse-shoe form predo- sleeves, rather more than a half-length, are of minate, and that a great many are open to the the small pagoda form, looped at the bend of elbow, or rather I should say are slashed so as the arm by a small brandebourg of the same to let the under-sleeve protrude in puff. The sleeves, a three-quarter length, and quite tight, are finished with effilé. Muslin chemisette and under-sleeves. Blue crape chapeau, a very open and rather large brim; the interior lined with point d'Angleterre, set in rather full, in the manner of a bonnet cap: blue brides; the exterior is ornamented with ribbon, sparingly and lightly Mantelet à la Duchesse of rosedisposed. coloured taffeta, the upper part sitting close to the figure before, and moderately open on the bosom, easy at the back, and descending in a moderately full point, encircled by a deep flounce, surmounted by five narrow bands of flat fancy trimming, and bordered by black lace, headed by two bands. Scarf fronts, bordered with lace, surmounted by three bands issuing from the back, the two others descend in points below the waist.

The dresses do not afford any actual novelty; they are in general of that elegantly simple kind that I described two or three months ago. There is not yet any striking alteration in the forms of dinner or evening robes; the garnitures are mostly flounces, and they are generally decorated with ruches. If there are two or three flounces, they surmount each other at some distance, and the spaces between are filled with ruches. Corsages are always low in evening dress; but those high behind and open in front are also worn for dinner. The Louis XV., and Raphael, may be made high, or moderately low; the chevreuse is always of the form given in our plate. White taffeta is fashionable in evening dress. White barege is beginning to be good deal employed; so also are white organdie and embroidered tarlatane. Several robes of pink and blue organdie have been seen; they are trimined with seven or eight volants, festooned in large dents, of the cockle-shell form, with white silk. The berthe and short sleeves are entirely covered with these trimmings, in small festoons. Some of the white taffeta and white barege robes are trimmed with pinked flounces; others have double skirts, without trimming: the upper one is raised on one side No. 3. MORNING DRESS.-Vest d'eau silk by a knot of white taffeta, with floating ends; or robe; the corsage, quite high and c se, is by a chain of choux of ribbon, mounting nearly trimmed crosswise, with seven rows of narrow to the waist. If the robe is intended for ball-pinked flounces of the same: they extend in dress, it is looped by a chain of roses mignonnes without foliage; or a bouquet of flowers, attached by a knot of ribbon with floating ends. The hair is decorated with a bouquet, or wreath, to correspond.

There is no change in fashionable colours this month; but I observe that white increases in favour, both in evening dress and for chapeaux and capotes. ADRIENNE DE M
