The Episcopal Churches of Dedham and Stoughton being without a Rector or Missionary for many years, No Records were kept in a regular way, but the following is here inserted at Desire. 1788. Mr. Timothy Richards, one of the principal Founders and Proprietors of the Episcopal Chh in Dedham, died Septem3 22nd, in the 84th year of his age, and was buried the 25th following by the Revd Mr Parker of Boston. The Revd Mr Parker at the same time baptised a son of Timothy Richards, and Grandson of the above deceased, by the name of Timothy Cutler. BAPTISMS. Apr. 14. 1776. The proprietors of the Epis1 Church in Dedham having met and a majority being present, first made choice of Mr. Joshua Kingsbury, one of the Wardens of said Church, Moderator. Then made choice of the Revd Wm Montagu, Rector of said Church in Dedham. Voted one hundred pounds sterling for his services on condition he supplied the Church with acceptable preaching every Sunday, and if the Church is not able to raise the said sum, the Revd Mr. Montague is obliged to supply only in proportion to the sum the Church is able to raise.
