AND at that time shall Michael d stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people; and f there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy h people shall be delivered every one that shall be found written i in the book.

2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some te everlasting life, k and some to I shame and everlasting contempt.

3 And they that be 5 wise shall m shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness, as the stars n for ever and ever.

4 But thou, O Daniel, shut o up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the Thank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.

6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was 9 upon the waters ef the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he s held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever, that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but u the wicked shail do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and 8 the abomination that 9 maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

13 But go thou thy way till the end be, for 2 thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

CHAP. I.

HOSEA.

THE word of the LORD that came unto
Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of
Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah,b
kings of Judah, and in the days of Jero- c
boam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2 The beginning of the word of the
LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to
Hosea, Go, take c unto thee a wife of
whoredoms, and children of whoredoms:
for d the land hath committed great
whoredom, departing from the LORD.
3 So he went and took Gomer, the
daughter of Diblaim; which conceived,
and bare him a son.

4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his
name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and
I will avenge the blood of e Jezreel upon
the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease
the kingdom of the house of Israel.
5 And it shall come to pass at that day,
that I will break the bow of Israel in the
valley of Jezreel.

6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name 9 Lo-ruhamah: for fI will no 9 more have mercy upon the house of Israel; 1 but I will utterly take them away. 7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, hand will save them by the LORD their i God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

CHAP. V.

HEAR ye this,O priests; and hearken,ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

2 And the revolters are profound m to make slaughter, though I have been a 8 rebuker of them all.

3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.

49 They will not 1 frame q their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.

5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.

6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.

7 They have dealt treacherouslyv against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

8 Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.

9 Ephraim shall be desolate z in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known a that which shall surely be.

10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water. 11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.

12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness. 7

13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king 8 Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescuehim. 15 I will go and return to my place, till they 9 acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their f affliction they I will seek me early.

10 It is in my desire that I should chas tise them; and the people shall be gather ed against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.

11 And Ephraim is as an heiler that is taught, and loveth to tread out the corn, but I passed over upon 9 her fair neck: 1 will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods. 12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. 13 Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies; because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle: the mother was dashed in pieces upon her children.

15 So shall Beth-el do unto you because of 1 your great wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel be utterly cut off.

CHAP. X.

ISRAEL is 5 an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath in creased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.

2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall 9 breakdown their altars, he shall spoil their images. 3 For now they shall say, We t have no king, because we feared not the LORD; what then should a king do to us? 4 They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgnient springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.
