of supervisors feel satisfied that all the requirements of chapter 87 of the compiled laws of Michigan of 1897, as amended, had been fully complied with, and that the territory described in said petition contained the proper requirements complying with the said act;

Now, Therefore, it is ordered, That the said territory described in said petition being within the township of St. Joseph, county of Berrien and State of Michigan, and described as follows, to-wit:

Commencing at the intersection of the south line of the city of St. Joseph and the east line of section thirty-four (34) in St. Joseph township, Michigan; thence running south on the east line of said section thirty-four (34) and the east line of section three in said township to a point due east from the center of said section three; thence west to the center of said section three; thence south to the center of section ten in said township, being to the south line of said township; thence west along the south line of said township to Lake Michigan; thence northeasterly along the shore of Lake Michigan to the south line of the city of St. Joseph; thence east to the place of beginning shall be and the same is hereby incorporated as a village under the provisions of said chapter 87 of the compiled laws of Michigan of 1897, as amended, under the name of Hilltop, and that the first election in said village of Hilltop shall be held on Monday the sixteenth day of November, 1908, at John E. Cowles cottage on Lake Shore Drive, and John Brunn, R. S. Goodell, Phil Daly and John E. Cowles who are residents of the said territory, now incorporated as the village of Hilltop, and qualified electors therein shall constitute a board of registration for said first election to be held in said village and they shall also act as inspectors of the election in said first election, and who shall exercise all other powers and perform all other duties provided for in said act.

GRATIOT COUNTY.

In the matter of the incorporation of the village of Breckenridge.

Ithaca, Mich., January 9th, 1908.

WHEREAS, A petition has been received by the board of supervisors of Gratiot county, from over thirty legal voters of the township of Wheeler, in aforesaid county, praying that the south one-half of section 19 and the north one-half of section 30 in said township be incorporated into a village to be named Breckenridge.

AND WHEREAS, According to the census taken at the inception of the movement to incorporate, there was found to be a population exceeding five hundred in the above named territory;

AND WHEREAS, It further appears that the notices of publication relative to such incorporation have been published according to law;

AND WHEREAS, According to statute the time and place of holding the first election, besides appointing four discreet persons, "legally qualified electors" to constitute a board of registration and inspectors of election is required;

Therefore, it is ordered by the board of supervisors of Gratiot county, Michigan, now in session, That beginning at the quarter post between sections 18 and 19 in the township of Wheeler, thence following such quarter line to quarter post on west side of section 19, thence south on township line 1 mile to the quarter post between sections 25 in Bethany township and 30 in Wheeler township, thence east on quarter line to east side of last named section, thence north one mile to starting point. Said territory shall hereafter be known and designated as the village of Breckenridge.

And likewise the first election in said village shall be held in the Opera House there on Monday, March 9th, 1908, and the following named qualified electors are appointed to act as a board of registration and inspectors of election. Charles A. Zubler, Charles Watson, Jesse Hodge, Alex Chisholm.

KEWEENAW COUNTY.

In the matter of the application of certain legal voters, for the incorporation of a village to be known as the village of Ahmeek.

WHEREAS, An application has been duly made to the board of supervisors of the county of Keweenaw by John Sopchich, Alex Pintar, Frank Malnar, Peter Osterman, Joseph Grgurich, Charles LaPoint, Schmidt, Anton Belobrajdish, Martin Gregorcic, Joseph Lesh, John D. Greutz, Sam Lambert, Fred Kexie, Dan Sullivan, John Olds, Patrick Dunnigan, James Wilson, Joseph Salassa, John Kurie, George Yakovich, Dominick Richetta, John Sandretta, George Segar, Matt Sagar, Martin Poshak, James Massole, Alex Gauroth, John Muhanen, Otto Heinonen, John Seppola; all of whom are legal voters residing within the territory which is proposed in said application for incorporation into the village of Ahmeek, for the incorporation of the territory hereinafter described into a village, and it appearing to the said board that the territory proposed to be incorporated as aforesaid, is situated in the county of Keweenaw, and is not included in any incorporated village, and such applicants having within sixty days before making such application caused an accurate census to be taken of the resident population of such territory, which census among other things, exhibits the name of every head of a family residing within such territory on such day, and the number of persons belonging to such family, which census is duly verified by the affidavit of Max Schmidt, the person who took the same, written on the same;

And it further appearing to said board by due proof on file, that notice in writing of such intended application, signed by such thirty applicants, residents and legal voters in said territory, has been duly published and posted up in the manner and during the time required by law, and the said applicants having presented their petition subscribed by them, and having thereunto attached the census and affidavit verifying the same, and a copy of the notice required, with affidavits of posting and publishing the same as aforesaid, at the time specified, and it also appearing to the satisfaction of the board that all the requirements of the act, for the incorporation of villages within the State of Michigan, and defining their powers and duties, the same being chapter eighty-seven (87) of the compiled laws of the State of Michigan of 1897 and its amendments, in respect to such application have been complied with, and that the territory determined upon as hereinafter described contains the population required by such act, and it appearing to the board that the said application ought to be granted and that the name of said village be the village of Ahmeek;

Thereupon it is ordered, and determined by the board that the territory described as follows, to-wit: The northeast quarter (N. E. 14) of the northwest quarter (N. W. 14) of section thirty-two (32) township fifty-seven (57) north of range thirty-two (32) west, situated in the county of Keweenaw, State of Michigan, and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the quarter post on the north side of section thirty-two (32), running south 0 degrees, 48', 30" east, 1311.47 feet; thence west 89 degrees, 48′ north, 1288.60 feet; thence north 0 degrees, 35' west 1312.45 feet; thence east, 89 degrees, 45', 30" south 1283.39 feet, to the place of commencement, shall be and the same is an incorporated village by the name of the village of Ahmeek.

That the first election for the said village of Ahmeek shall be held on Monday the fifteenth day of March, A. D. 1909, at the office of James A. Hamilton, on Vivian street in said village; that James Wilson, John Olds, John Kurie and James A. Hamilton shall constitute the board of registration for said first election to be held in said village, and that the members of said board of registration shall also act as inspectors of election at said first election.

I, Frank X. Kaiser, clerk of the county of Keweenaw and clerk of the circuit court for said county, the same being a court of record and having a seal, do hereby certify that I have compared the annexed copy of resolution of the board of supervisors, of said county, at their meeting held on the 19th day of February, A. D. 1909, with the original record thereof, now remaining in my office, and have found the said copy to be, and that the same is, a true and correct transcript therefrom, and of the whole of such original record.

OCEANA COUNTY.

In the matter of the incorporation of the village of Walkerville.

WHEREAS, There has been presented to the honorable board of supervisors in and for the county of Oceana and State of Michigan, convened in regular session on the 20th day of October, 1908, a petition subscribed by not less than thirty legal voters residing within the territory hereinafter described, and praying that the said board shall make an order incorporating the said territory hereinafter described as a village, such village to be known by the name of Walkerville, and there being attached to said petition a request that a census be taken of said territory within 60 days before the making of this application, said request being

signed by not less than thirty legal voters residing in said territory; and also attached to said petition a census showing the name of every head of a family residing within such territory, and the number of persons then belonging to said family, and the said census being verified by the affidavit of the person taking the same annexed thereto; and there being also attached to said petition a copy of the notice of such application with an affidavit of publication of said notice as is required by law;

AND WHEREAS, The territory proposed to be incorporated in such incorporated village as set forth in said petition is described as follows: Commencing at a point 80 rods west of the center of section four (4) in Leavitt township, Oceana county, Michigan, the same being township fifteen (15) north, range fifteen (15) west, and running thence west one and one-quarter miles to the section line between sections five and six of said township; running thence south one mile to the quarter post between sections seven and eight of said township; running thence east one and one-quarter miles to a point 80 rods east of the section line between sections eight and nine of said township and running thence north one mile to the place of beginning. The lands and territory included therein being described as follows, to-wit:

The west one-half of the southwest one-quarter of section four (4), the west one-half of the northwest one-quarter of section nine (9), the south one-half of section five (5) and the north one-half of section eight. (8), all of said lands being situated in said township fifteen (15) north, range fifteen (15) west in the county of Oceana and State of Michigan. AND WHEREAS, The said board having given an opportunity for all parties interested to be heard before said board, and it appearing to such board that all the requirements of chapter No. 87 of Miller's compiled laws for the State of Michigan, for the year 1897, and the amendatory acts thereto have been fully complied with, and such board, after hearing all parties desiring to be heard, being satisfied that all the requirements of said act in respect to such application have been complied with and that such territory as determined upon contains the population required by said act, do desire that such territory be incorporated as prayed.

Therefore, be it resolved, That the board of supervisors for Oceana county, Michigan, in regular session now here convened, does hereby order that the territory described as commencing at a point 80 rods west of the center of section four (4) in Leavitt township, Oceana county, Michigan, the same being township fifteen (15) north, range fifteen (15) west, and running thence west one and one-quarter miles to the section line between sections five and six of said township; running thence south one mile to the quarter post between sections seven and eight of said township; running thence east one and one-quarter miles to a point 80 rods east of the section line between sections eight and nine of said township and running thence north one mile to the place of beginning. The lands and territory included therein being described as follows, to-wit:

The west one-half of the southwest one-quarter of section four (4); the west one-half of the northwest one-quarter of section nine (9); the south one-half of section five (5) and the north one-half of section eight
