In preparing the present volume for publication the committee in charge has been guided by the instructions of the Institute.
The synopses and outlines of discussions at Round Tables are based on written reports made to the Forum, supplemented by the stenographic record and by material presented as public addresses.
Of the formal addresses published herein, sixteen were specifically authorized by the Institute and five are included on recommendation of leaders of Round Tables. The remaining four papers were selected by the Committee on Findings and Publications after consultation with officers of the Institute and with a view to presenting matter not adequately treated in reports of Round Tables and Forums.
