of their torment ascendeth up for ever and

of

A.They will live in a state of happiness for ever, in the presence of God, in whose presence is fulness of joy; and at whose right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Ps. 16. 11.

Q. 6. Can we conceive aright of the happiness of heaven ?

A. No; all our words and all our thoughts must come far short of the reality.

Q. 7.-Has not the Scripture described it to us ?

A. Yes, under a great variety of images.
Q. 8-Mention some of them.

A. It is called a kingdom-a crown of life an inheritance incorruptible, undefiled, and that fadeth not away-a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God; and many other grand names are given to it.

A. That heaven is a state of inconceivable happiness, and honor, and glory.

Q. 10.-Will there be nothing to interrupt or to lessen our happiness there?

A.—No, nothing. There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest. The saints will be for ever delivered from all that might give sorrow; and they will for ever enjoy all that can make them happy.

* Q. 11.-How will they be employed? A. In worshipping and praising God, whom they will see face to face.

Q. 12. What will they praise him for?

A. They will praise him for his mercy towards them, in having redeemed their souls from death, and say "Worthy is the Lamb "that was slain to receive power, and riches, " and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."

* Q. 13.-And will they never grow weary?

A. No, never.

the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of wa❝ters; and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Rev. 7. 15, 17.

Q. 14,-Since there is such a place of happiness, ought we not to be earnest in seeking an admission to it?

A.-We ought, indeed. We should seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; for nothing can be so important to us as to obtain an entrance into the kingdom of heaven.

*Q. 15.-What is the way to this happiness?

A.-Christ is the way, for no man cometh to the Father, but by him.

* Q. 16.-How can he be the way?

A. Because he died to take away our sins. Thro' his blood we are pardoned, and by his spirit we are made meet for heaven; and he will come again at the end of the world, and receive all his people unto himself.

Q. 17.-Who are they that are walking

in this way?

A.

All who truly believe in Jesus; i, e. all who receive him as their only Saviour, and trust in him, and obey him. "The wages

"of sin is death; but the gift of God is "ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST our "LORD." Rom. 6. 23.

THE LORD'S PRAYER.

OUR FATHER, WHICH ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KING. DOM COME. THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD. AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, AS WE FORGIVE THEM THAT TRESPASS AGAINST US. AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL: FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, THE POWER, AND THE GLORY, FOR EVER AND EVER. AMEN,
