The trustees have received liberal donations during the past year, but they feel that they may expect a still more generous support for this great charity, and that they may ask those who have contributed to the support of the dispensary, and the many friends of homœopathy in the city of New York, to aid them in bringing this institution and its work to the notice of the many who have never given; perhaps more from the want of opportunity than lack of inclination to do so.

This exhibit speaks for itself. It should speak to the wealthy more eloquently than the most well chosen and flowery language. It is a duty the more fortunate owe to the poorer, to do that which

lies in their power to alleviate misfortune. Of all misfortune, none presses more heavily on the poor than sickness. A small sum contributed to a dispensary will do a great deal of good, and it is to be deprecated that there are not more to aid in the good work by their subscriptions.

Subscriptions may be sent to the president, M. H. Chambers, 4 Union square; to Dr. F. Seeger, treasurer, 157 East Fifty-sixth street, or may be handed to any of the trustees.

REPORT, 1869.

The trustees of the Western Homœopathic Dispensary, herewith present a report of work done since the organization of the dispensary, May 21, 1868, to December 31, 1869, a period of a little over one year and a half.

Commencing in an humble way, in rooms hired for the purpose, the work has steadily increased, until now we are treating at the rate of eight thousand patients per annum, and giving out at the rate of twenty thousand prescriptions a year.

The growth of this institution is unparalled in the history of city dispensaries, and shows the great need of an institution of this kind in the quarter of the city where this is located, and the faithfulness and skill with which the physicians have performed their duties.

The trustees, in appealing to the public for aid, are confident that
