THE following Narrative was prepared for the New-York Evangelist, and originally appeared in the columns of that paper, in the months of February and March, 1833. As the history of the early settlement of New-England, and especially the sufferings of the people from the Indians, excited by Popish emissaries, has not yet been reduced to a "form suited to Sabbath School Libraries, it seemed to the Editor that this affecting narrative might properly constitute the first in a series of books designed for this object. If the plan should prove acceptable, it is hoped that a series of useful narratives may be obtained, by which the thrilling incidents of New
