UNIFORM LAWS ANNOTATED

The Pioneer Set in an Established and Rapidly Expanding
Field of American Law

COMPLETE IN NINE HANDY-SIZE VOLUMES. ADVANCE SUBSCRIPTION PRICE ONLY $36.00

This set contains all the Uniform State Laws approved by the National Conference of Commissioners and adopted by the various States, complete and unabridged, including all amendments to the close of the legislative sessions of 1921.

Each law is exhaustively annotated with full statements of the holdings of the interpreting decisions from all jurisdictions and of every statutory change in the adopting states. Appendixes added to the individual volumes contain the text of important related

statutes.

The most important and generally adopted laws are each given a separate book in this set (see list herewith), thus carrying out so far as possible the plan of "one law, one book, and that book always up to date," which has been so successfully applied for years to the publication of our McKinney's Consolidated Laws of New York, Annotated, the most approved set of state statutes ever published.

Each book of Uniform Laws Annotated is so constructed that it may be separately kept up to date by an annual cumulative supplement in pamphlet form, stitched to a stiff paper tongue that fits into a pocket in the back of the book and opens as though it were a part of the book as originally bound-a patented device used on law books published only by Edward Thompson Company.

In this set you have all of the cases from all jurisdictions construing and applying all the Uniform Laws that have been adopted; the states where they have been adopted are pointed out; any differences in the laws as enacted in the various jurisdictions are clearly stated.

With this set, because of these features, you can quickly advise your clients not only on local matters but on cases arising in other jurisdictions under these laws.

Again, the recent cases contain much of all the modern law of business, labor questions, social movements, modern enterprises of all kinds. They gauge the swing of the judicial pendulum at this particular time.

Fully 90% of the precedents in point with questions raised in practice today may be found in the cases decided during the past twenty years.

A

AMERICAN LAW REPORTS ANNOTATED incorporate into one law book the combined experience of three prominent American Law Publishers.

AMERICAN LAW REPORTS ANNOTATED contain the full report of current cases of general interest and permanent import decided by all American Courts-State and Federal.

Each reported case is annotated by an editorial note, in the nature of a brief reviewing, quoting and citing all cases on the main issue decided in the reported case.

The best precedents in point and briefs on narrow points-the final result of all the lawyers labor—are here instantly accessible. The paramount importance of the recent case is self-evident. They provide the best precedents on the old points of law and the only authority on the new. In them only may be found judicial interpretations of modern legislation which is moulding anew a great compass of the law.

The cases in each current volume of AMERICAN LAW REPORTS provide later law on the points considered than may be found in general reference books which were published long before these cases were decided.

Likewise the A. L. R. annotations are usually the latest and often the only editorial expression of the law on the points briefed therein. Hence the indispensability of A. L. R. as a supplement to your other books.

The price is $7.50 a volume, delivered.

FEDERAL STATUTES ANNOTATED SECOND EDITION

UP TO DATE, BOTH AS TO LAWS AND ANNOTATIONS

In this set the statutes are arranged under heads which lawyers are now accustomed to consult in finding their law.

In convenience, quick reference, and intelligent comprehension of a subject, the alphabetical arrangement as found in Federal Statutes Annotated is vastly superior to any other. Hundreds of cross-reference titles appear throughout the work, and in the General Index volume are tables of laws by section numbers and by popular names. The annotations are the work of experts of years of experience in the compilation of the first edition.

They are not written in the digest paragraph style, but abound in quotations from the opinions of the Courts-in statements of the purpose and scope of the statute-in the reasons for or against certain views—in explanations and other invaluable features.

The set with supplements to 1921 consists of fifteen volumes, averaging 1200 pages each, printed on medium thin paper from clear type, and bound in the best law buckram. Price $7.50 a volume. Cash discount or easy terms as preferred.

The Pamphlet Supplement Service in connection with this set supplies new laws promptly
