PROPOSITION TO SUBSCRIBERS.

To obviate all objections on account of the expense of the Repository to distant subscribers, and to place it within the reach of intelligent individuals and families of limited means, in all parts of the country, the editor submits the following proposition, viz:

To each subscriber wishing to receive the work by mail, and who will forward five dollars in advance, postage paid, the numbers will be promptly sent postage paid by the editor. And at whatever time during the year five dollars shall be received from a subscriber, the subsequent Nos. for the year will be sent, postage paid as above.

This offer, if accepted, will save to each subscriber, receiving the work by mail, during the year, at a distance less than 100 miles, one dollar or more, and at a distance of more than 100, miles, nearly two dollars.

So large an allowance cannot long be continued, unless it shall result in a corresponding increase of subscribers. The proposition was made, at the commencement of the current year, with the confident expectation that its liberality would be appreciated, and that the patronage of the work would be sufficiently increased to enable the editor to continue this allowance to distant subscribers. His expectations, however, have not been fully answered, and he again takes the liberty to appeal to his many friends who have expressed a desire to take the work, and to request that they will at once avail themselves of these peculiarly favorable terms, and thus enable him to continue the above proposition to distant subscribers.

Clergymen and others, who receive this No. of the Repository, will much oblige the editor, if they will suggest the above considerations to their friends who may feel an interest in sustaining a work of this character.

N. B. All letters concerning the Repository, subscribers' names, etc. should be addressed to the Editor, No. 89 Nassau street, New York, or to the Rev. Seth Bliss, at the American Tract Depository, No. 28 Cornhill, Boston.
