In conclusion it may now be fairly said that-thanks to the Internal Revenue Commission-strictly professional pharmaceutists have no special tax, except the one to pay, are free from all ad valorem taxes, except that on incomes, and are entirely exempt from the stamp taxes of Schedule C; whilst all other classes of apothecaries may go into the taxable and stamp-taxing branches of trade just as far as they please, and only pay as far as they go. All this being due to the patient, considerate attention given by the Revenue Commmission to your Committee, it seems due to the Commission that the Association should express its obligation; therefore,

Resolved, That the President of the American Pharmaceutical Association be directed to express the thanks of the Association to the Internal Revenue Commission of the United States for the year 1865-6, for the favorable attention given to the interests and desires of the Association as evinced in the new Internal Revenue Law.
