The legal rates of cab and coach fare are as follows, a carriage seating two persons inside being considered a cab, and one seating more than two a coach: No hackman shall demand more than the legal rates of fare or charge for one stop not over five minutes long in a single trip. No hack shall be driven by the time rate at a pace less than five miles an hour. One piece of baggage, not over fifty pounds in weight, shall be carried without extra charge. Additional baggage shall be charged for at the rate of 25 cents a piece. All disputes as to distances and fares can be settled by Chief of Bureau of Licenses, Room 1, City Hall, Manhattan, or by captain or sergeant of nearest police station. more Rates for express deliveries are fixed as follows: Between points within any borough, not than five miles apart, each piece, 40 cents; not more than ten miles apart, each piece, 55 cents; not more than fifteen miles apart, each piece, 75 Between points in different boroughs, onecents. half the above rates in addition.
