THE RIGHTEOUS AND WICKED COMPARED.

Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. But woe unto the wicked, it shall be ill with him; for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

2 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour.

3

* The righteous shall be recompensed in the earth; much more the wicked and the sinner.

4

A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord; but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

5 He that diligently seeketh good, procureth favour; but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. "God will not cast away a perfect man; neither will he help the evil doers.

7 The righteous is delivered out of trouble; and the wicked cometh in his stead.

8

Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.

To keep the statutes and judgments, which the Lord hath commanded us; this is our wisdom, and our understanding. But wickedness is madness and folly.

10 They are fools that make a mock at sin, and say in their hearts, There is no God. But whoso keepeth the law is wise.

'The way of the wicked is as darkness; they know not at what they stumble: but the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

"He that walketh uprightly, walketh surely; but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

3

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his ways; but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

4 Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin; but where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty: and whom the Son shall make free, they shall be free indeed.

5

The fear of the Lord is clean; and God is good to such as are of a clean heart. He that hath clean hands and a pure heart shall ascend into the hill of the Lord. But how abominable and filthy is man, that drinketh iniquity like water? The hypocrites in heart heap up wrath; for their life is among the unclean. The workers of iniquity are corrupt; they are altogether become filthy.

6

The wicked have made themselves vile; but they that serve the Lord are precious in his sight, and honourable.

7° The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked; but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

8

God giveth to the sinner travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God.

The fear of the Lord prolongeth days; but the of the wicked shall be shortened.

1 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivereth from death.

2

* The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips; but the just shall come out of trouble.

3

The fear of the wicked it shall come upon him; but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

The wicked flee when no man pursueth; but the righteous are bold as a lion.

5 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

6

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. 7 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness; but the righteous hath hope in his death.

When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth, and when the wicked perish there is shouting.

9

'The memory of the just is blessed; but the name of the wicked shall rot.

10 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

11

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life.

12 Indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, shall be upon every soul of man that doeth evil: but glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good.

13

They that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake; some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

1 When the Son of Man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall be gathered before him all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats; and he shall set the sheep on his right-hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall he say unto them on his right-hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment; but the righteous into life eternal.

THE CONCLUSION.

2 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole Duty of Man.

3

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
