Resolved, by the board of control, that the commissioner of purchases and supplies be and he is hereby authorized and directed to purchase the following described real estate from the owners of the parcel hereinafter stated and needed for the completion and extension of Baldwin reservoir for the purpose of erecting water works for supplying water to the corporation and inhabitants of the city of Cleveland:

Situated in the city of Cleveland, county of Cuyahoga and state of Ohio, and known as being sublot No. 96 in Quincy Heights subdivision of part of original one hundred acre lots Nos. 418, 419 and 420, as shown by the recorded plat in volume 37 of maps, page 2 of Cuyahoga county records, and being 36 feet front on the northeast(now erly side of Quincy ace. known as Woodstock ave. S. E.), and extending back of equal width 84-28/100 feet deep, as appears by said plat, be the same more or less, but subject to all legal highways.

Said parcel of land contains a two family dwelling house and is The owned by Lewis F. and Amy M. Dubois, husband and wife. consideration to be paid therefor is five thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($5,250.00), with the express condition, however, that the grantors are to retain ownership of the two family house aforesaid and are to be permitted to remove the same on or before January 15, 1919.

That the commissioner of purchases and supplies be and he is hereby authorized and directed to expend an amount not to exceed $5,250 00 for the purchase of said parcel above described; said money to be paid out of the funds derived from the sale of bonds authorized by ordinance No. 46833 and entitled "An ordinance to issue bonds in the sum of five hundred thou

sand ($500,000.00) dollars to pay the cost and expense of procuring the real estate and right-of-way and erecting water works for supplying water to the corporation and inhabitants of the city of Cleveland, and extending, enlarging, improving, repairing, equipping, furnishihng and securing the more complete enjoyment of the same;" that said commissioner of purchases and supplies be and he is hereby authorized to pay the sum aforesaid to the owners of the above described parcel of land upon delivery to the city of Cleveland of a good and sufficient warranty deed and certificate of title showing said premises to be free and clear of all encumbrances whatsoever, excepting that the two family house aforesaid shall be and remain the property of the grantors, same to be removed by them on or before January 15, 1919, and excepting all taxes and assessments for the year 1919 and thereafter, and to the satisfaction of the director of law.

Resolved, by the board of control, that the director of public service be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with The River Construction Company, lowest and best bidder for the construction of a sewer in W. 74th st., from a point 50 feet south of Wakefield ave. to a point 470 feet northerly, in the approximate sum of thirty-nine hundred sixty-two and fifty one-hundredths. ($3,962.50) dollars, in accordance with its bid received December 5, 1918. File No. 6037.

Resolved, by the board of control, that the director of public utilities be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with W. J. Birmingham, lowest and best bidder, for forced draft air ducts for the division of light and heat, in the sum of two thousand two hundred and sixty-two dollars ($2,262.00) in accordance with his bid received December 13, 1918.

Applications and full information covering the following examinations may now be obtained at the office of the civil service commission, 414 City Hall. Applications should be obtained as soon as possible, and must be filed by applicant in person at that office not later than 12 o'clock noon of the seventh day preceding the date of the examination.

AND HEAT Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the commissioner of purchases and supplies, city hall, Cleveland, Ohio, until 12:00 o'clock noon, December 27th, 1918, for gratings, stairs and runways for the division of light and heat, and will be opened and read in room No. 305, city hall,immediately thereafter.

Each bid must be made in accordance with the specifications which may be cbtained by applying to room 205 city hall.

No proposals will be entertained unless made on the blanks furnished by division of light and heat, room 205 city hall, and delivered to the office of the commissioner of purchases and supplies, previous to 12:00 o'clock noon on the day above specified. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

LIQUEFIED CHLORINE GAS Sealed bids will be received at the office of the commissioner of purchases and supplies, city hall, Cleveland, Ohio, until 12:00 o'clock noon, December 26th, 1918, for furnishing liquefied chlorine gas for the division of water, and will be opened and read in room 305 city hall immediately thereafter.

Each bid must be made in accordance with the specifications which may be obtained by applying to the commissioner of water.
