BOARD OF CONTROL

The regular meeting of the board of control was called to order at 10:00 a. m., Friday, August 16th. Present: Directors FitzGerald, Bernstein, Sprosty, Neal, Farrell and Waite.

Absent: Mayor Davis and Director Beman.

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as presented, and on motion of the acting president, the following resolutions were adopted:

By Director Bernstein.

Resolved, by the board of control, that the director of public service be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into subsidiary agreement No. 942, with J. W. Chapman, making certain additions to and amending contract No. 11308, in the sum of $771.74, covering the grading and laying of sidewalks on Parkhurst dr. S. W., from Bosworth rd. S. W. to W. 110th st. File No. 5783.

Resolved, by the board of control, that the director of public service be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into subsidiary agreement No. 944, with The Enterprise Paving & Construction Company, making certain additions to and amending contract No. 11668, in the sum of $43.00, covering the paving of Jeffries ave. S. E., from Warner rd. S. E. to E. 86th st.

with the American Construction Company, making certain additions to and amending contract No. 11761, in the sum of $49,152.00, covering the extension of the straight section of the submerged outfall pipe channel and connection at the easterly sewage treatment works, be and the same is hereby approved.

Resolved, by the board of control, that the director of public service be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with Gould & Maybash, the lowest and best bidders August 14th, 1918, for repaving and improving Euclid ave., from about 500 fet east of Ivanhoe rd. N. E. to 1,700 feet easterly, in accordance with their bid for the same, approximately $9,042.90.

Resolved, that the director of public service be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with D. Zullo, the lowest and best bidder for the construction of a sewer in E. 30th st., between Euclid ave. and Cedar ave., in accordance with his bid for the same, approximately $48,908.90, received on the 1st day of August, 1918.

Resolved, that the director of public service be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with F. A. Fredericks and A. Hosine, the lowest and best bidders for the construction of a sewer in Clarkstone rd., between Euclid ave. and the N. Y. C. & St. L. Ry., in accordance with their bid for the same, approximately $3,433.15, received on the 1st day of August, 1918; and,

Be it further resolved, that resolution No. 5761, adopted by the board of control on August 9th, 1918, be in the same and is hereby rescinded.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR PERSONAL SERVICE, ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION, ON AUGUST 14th, 1918. Resolution of the civil service commission on changes in the standard specifications for personal service, affecting the positions of:

METER READERS, IT-1, of the inspector of meters group, of the inspectional service.

The commission states that the change involved is to add two additional steps to the salary range, making the maximum salary $1,200.00 per annum.

August 30, 1918, for soot blowers and will be opened and read in room No. 305 city hall, immediately thereafter.

NOTICE FOR BIDS FOR REMOVAL OF BUILDING

Sealed bids for the removal of the four (4) story brick building now located at 2080 E. 93rd st., Cleveland, Ohio, will be received at the office of the commissioner of purchases and supplies, room 219, city hall, Cleveland, Ohio, until twelve o'clock noon, September 17, 1918. Said building is to be moved from its present site to a lot of land located at the northwest corner of E. 90th st. and Carnegie ave. as extended, as shown on plans on file in the engineers department of the city of Cleveland. Each bid must provide for the construction of a foundation for said building and the supplying all necessary labor and material to equip the same in its new location substantially the same as in its present location.
