ALMIGHTY FATHER, we pray Thee to look upon all Thy creatures here below, and teach them all, from the highest to the lowest, to know Thee and Thy dear Son Jesus Christ, whom to know is life eternal. We pray, too, for the Church of Jesus Christ in this our land and throughout the world, may it ever shine forth as a witness for Thee in the midst of a dark world. We would also commend to Thy care and keeping those who are afflicted in body, soul, or mind. Comfort and relieve them if it please Thee, O God. We would plead with Thee on behalf of our Queen and Royal Family, our rulers and magistrates, and those who minister to us in Thy Word and Sacraments. Finally, we beseech Thee to bless us as a family; may we each fulfil our duty to one another, in love and faithfulness, remembering ever that we have been brought together to be of mutual help and comfort to one another.
