Friday Evening.

ALMIGHTY GOD, we beseech Thee now to look down upon us, Thy creatures, here assembled before Thee, and to receive this our evening sacrifice of prayer and praise, which we offer unto Thee in the name of Thy dear Son Jesus Christ our Lord. We ask Thy pardon for all wherein we have offended Thee during this day, and for grace to enable us to do Thy will in the future. We ask Thy care and protection during our hours of darkness and slumber, and may we awake refreshed on the morrow to the duties of a new day. Thy protection and blessing we would also ask on behalf of all those who are near and dear to us. Do Thou give us sweet repose, we beseech Thee; and if Thou seest fit to withhold this blessing, do Thou come near unto us and commune with us. We ask this for the sake of Thy dear Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

OUR Father, and the Father of our

Lord Jesus Christ, we beseech Thee to look upon us the sheep of Thy pasture on this earth. O feed us with the true bread from heaven, and give unto us to drink of the rivers of Thy pleasures, leading us in the paths of righteousness, for Thine own name's sake. Prosper our Church, our Queen, our country, and those who administer its laws. May we be a holy nation and a peculiar people, to show forth Thy praise, who hast brought us out of darkness into Thy marvellous light, among the other nations of the earth. May we, who are now kneeling before Thy

throne of grace, truly feel our need, and truly ask that we may truly receive at Thy hands all things needful for soul and body. Be with us, good Lord, in all occupations this day, and help us to do them as unto Thee, and for Thy sake. We ask this for the sake of Thy Son Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

ALMIGHTY Father in Christ Jesus, we would ask Thee now to bestow upon us a Father's blessing; and may we in deed and in truth realise that Thou art about our path and about our bed, and knoweth all our ways, and may this thought keep us from evil-doing. Do Thou remember not against us the transgressions of this day, we beseech Thee, but after Thy loving kindness do Thou think upon us, good Lord. Do Thou send Thine angels to encamp around us and protect us during our hours of helplessness and darkness, and give unto us quiet rest, if it please Thee, to fit us for the trials, temptations, and duties of another day. Be with all our relatives and friends, and think upon them, O God, for their present and eternal good. And this we beg for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Sunday Morning.

ALMIGHTY and most merciful God, we humbly

intercede with Thee for ourselves and all sorts and conditions of men, that Thou wouldst freely pardon all our offences. Give unto us, we beseech Thee, a spirit of love towards each other, unity and agreement. Do Thou bless our beloved Church, Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and all her family; and grant us to lead quiet and peaceable lives under her. Guide our rulers both of Church and State, and also our magistrates, that we may be righte ously and honestly governed. Do Thou give Thy grace, we beseech Thee, unto our Bishops and Curates that they may both in word and deed adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things; and grant unto us all that we may reverently and meekly hear Thy holy Word; and we beseech Thee to help and comfort the sick and the sorrowing. We praise and magnify Thy holy name for all whom Thou hast redeemed from this earth for heaven. Do Thou also grant unto us, we beseech Thee, a place in Thy heavenly home. We would also thank Thee for Thy mercies to us, so full and free and undeserved. Be with us in all our undertakings this day.
