Send down thy Bleffings, fpiritual and temporal, upon all my Friends and Relations, more particularly upon-Give us what thou feeft moft profitable for us. And as thou best knoweft all our Wants, fo be thou pleased to fuit thy Graces and Bleffings to the feveral Neceffities of our Souls and Bodies.

To these my Prayers and Interceffions, I defire likewife, O moft merciful God, to add my unfeigned Thanks and Praife to thy incomprehenfible Majefty, for all the Mercies and Benefits which thou haft fo freely and undefervedly conferred upon me.

I blefs Thee for my Creation and Prefervation; for my Health, Strength, Peace, and Safety; for thy continual Care and watchful Providence over me ever fince I was born; and for all the Comforts and Conveniences I have hitherto received; and in particular,

particular, for the Mercies and Refreshments of the Day past.

I confefs, O Lord, my Unworthiness of thy Mercies, but in Confidence of thy infinite Goodness, I beg Leave to commend my Soul and Body to thy Fatherly Care and good Providence, humbly befeeching thee to take me, and all that belong to me, this Night, under thy Almighty Protection.

Refresh our Bodies with quiet Reft and Sleep, and our Souls with the Confolations. of thy Holy Spirit; and when thou fhalt think fit to take us out of this World, give us everlasting Reft and Peace in thy eternal Kingdom, through the Merits, and for the Sake of our Bleffed Saviour and Redeemer Jefus Chrift; who hath taught us when we pray, to fay,

A Prayer for Thursday Morning.

O LORD, the Creator and Governor of the World! Thou art a God of infinite Power, Wisdom, and Goodness, and thy tender Mercies are over all thy Works; I thy unworthy Servant fall low on my Knees before thy Throne of Grace, to renew the Tribute of my humblefst Praise

and

and Adoration, to thy great and glorious, Majefty.

Bleffed be thy Name, O God, for sending thy Son our Lord Jefus Chrift into the World to die for the Redemption of Mankind, and for all the Benefits and Advantages which I have received thereby.`

Bleffed be thy holy Name that I was born of Chriftian Parents, and early dedicated to thee by Baptifm, and for all the Means and Opportunities which thou haft given me of becoming wife unto Salvation; for the Affiftances of thy good Spirit, and for inclining me fo early to love and fear thee.

I thank thee, O Lord, for all the temporal Bleffings I have received; for that Measure of Health which I have enjoyed; for the many Friends and Relations thou haft given me; and for that competent Maintenance and Provifion thou hast made for me. Particularly, O Lord, I bless thy holy Name, that thou haft protected me the Night paft from the Powers of Darknefs, and every evil Accident, and haft now raised me up in Health and Safety to praise thy Goodness.

O Lord, raife me up alfo, I pray thee, to Newness of Life, and grant me fuch a Senfe of thy Goodnefs as may excite in my

Heart

a fincere Love to thee, and a holy Care to please and obey thee in all Things.

Pardon, I most humbly befeech thee, all my paft Ingratitude, and undutiful Behaviour towards thee, and let me never forget the many and great Obligations thou haft laid upon me to become thy faithful and obedient Servant.

I confefs, O Lord, that I am not able of myself to please thee; but fince thou haft promifed to give thy Holy Spirit to them. that afk it, with an humble Reliance on thy moft gracious Promifes, I befeech thee to vouchfafe me his divine Affiftance, to enable me to do my Duty towards thee, and towards all Men.

Endue me, O moft gracious God, with a Spirit of true and fervent Devotion tothee my Creator and Redeemer; with an honest, upright and charitable Heart towards all my Neighbours; and with a contented, meek and humble Mind, in every Condition and State of Life, in which thou shalt be pleased to place me.

O Lord, convince me more and more of the Vanity and Emptinefs of all earthly Enjoyments, that my Heart being lifted up above the Pleafures of this Life, it may furely there be fixed, where true Joys are to

be found. Grant that I may seek thy Kingdom and the Righteoufnefs thereof in the rft Place, and prefer thy Favour, and the Testimony of a good Confcience, before the greatest Happiness this World can promife me. Let neither Hopes nor Fears, neither Pleasure nor Profit, be ever able to draw me from my Duty; but being stedfaft and immoveable, I may always abound in the Work of the Lord, knowing that Labour fhall not be in vain in the Lord.

And now, O Lord, I humbly pray thee to take me, and all that are near and dear unto me, this Day, under the Care and Protection of thy good Providence. We are fafe fo long as we are in thy Hands; O let us never caft away our Confidence in thee, nor place it any where but in thee. Be with us in all Dangers and Temptations; keep us from all Things that may hurt us; preferve us more efpecially from the Sin that does moit easily betray and enfnare us. Give us fuch a Measure of Health, and other temporal Bleffings, as thou seest best and most fitting for us; and grant us the Affiftance of thy good Spirit, that in our feveral Stations and Employments, we may keep a Confcience void of Offence both towards thee, and towards all Men, through
