17 When He shall have turned unto the prayer of the forlorn, And not contemned their supplication.

18 This shall be written for the next generation,

And a people yet to be born shall praise JEHOVAH: (saying) 19"Truly, He hath looked down from His sanctuary on high; "From heaven hath JEHOVAH looked upon the earth,

20

"And hearkened unto the groans of the prisoners,

"And set at liberty those appointed to die."

21 They shall publish, in Sion, the Name of JEHOVAH, And His praise, in Jerusalem;

22 When the nations are gathered togetherEven the kingdoms, to worship JEHOVAH.

23 HE hath weakened my strength in the way, He hath cut short my days.

24 I say: my God, take me not off in the midst of my days! THY years endure through endless generations!

25 Of old Thou didst lay the foundations of the earth,

And the heavens were the work of Thy hands.

26 They shall perish, but Thou continuest;

Yea, they all shall grow old as a garment.
THOU shalt change them as a vesture,
And they shall be changed!

27 But Thou art the same,

And Thy years never end!

28 May the sons of Thy servants dwell securely, And may their seed be established before Thee!

PSALM CIII.

1 BLESS JEHOVAH, O my soul,

Yea, let every thing within me bless His holy Name!

2 Bless JEHOVAH, O my soul,

And forget not His many benefits; 3 Who pardoneth thy many iniquities— Who healeth thy many infirmities—

4 Who rescueth thy life from the grave

Who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and mercies

5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things,

So that thy youth is renewed with the strength of the eagle.

6 JEHOVAH executeth righteousness

And equity, for all who are oppressed.

7 HE made known His ways unto MosesHis doings unto the children of Israel:

.8"Merciful and gracious is JEHOVAH,

(saying)

"Slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness."

9 HE doth not always chide,

Nor doth He retain His anger for ever.

10 HE hath not dealt with us according to our sins,

11

Nor recompensed us according to our wickedness.

Truly, as high as are the heavens above the earth,

So great is His mercy towards those who reverence Him;

12 As distant as is the east from the west,

So far hath He removed our offences from us;

13 As a father is compassionate unto his children,

So is JEHOVAH merciful unto those who reverence Him; 14 For He knoweth of what we are formed,

He remembereth that we are dust.

15 The days of feeble man are as the grass,
As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 The wind passeth over it, and it is no more,
Nor doth its place any longer behold it.

17 But the loving-kindness of JEHOVAH is from eternity,
Even unto eternity, towards those who reverence Him;
And His mercy, towards their children's children-
18 Towards those who keep His covenant,

And remember to perform His precepts.

19 JEHOVAH hath established His throne in the heavens, And His kingdom is supreme over all things.

20 Bless JEHOVAH, ye His angels,

Ye mighty ones, who execute His word,

Hearkening unto the voice of His command.

21 Bless JEHOVAH, all ye His hosts,

Ye His ministers, who do His pleasure.

22 Bless JEHOVAH, all ye His works, In all places of His dominion.

Bless JEHOVAH, O my soul!

PSALM CIV.

1 BLESS JEHOVAH, O my soul!

O JEHOVAH, my God, Thou art exceedingly great,
THOU art clothed in splendour and majesty!

2 HE arrayeth Himself in light, as in a garment!

He spreadeth out the heavens, like the awning of a tent! 3 HE fixeth the beams of His chambers in the watery, clouds! HE maketh the thick clouds His chariot !

He walketh upon the wings of the wind! 4 HE maketh the winds, His messengersThe flaming lightnings, His ministers!

5 HE fixed the earth upon its foundations; It shall never be moved.

6 With the deep, as with a garment, Thou didst cover it; Above the mountains stood the waters.

7 At Thy rebuke they fled!

At the sound of Thy thunder they hurried away!

8 Rising like mountains, descending like vallies,

They went unto the place which Thou hadst prepared for them.

9 THOU hast set them a boundary;

They shall not pass over it—

They shall not again cover the earth.

10 HE sendeth forth springs into the vallies; They run between the mountains.

11 They give drink to all the beasts of the field; The asses of the desert quench their thirst!

12 About them do the birds of the air dwell;

From amidst the leaves of the trees, they utter their song.

13 HE watereth the hills out of His chambers!

The earth is satisfied with the fruits which Thou producest!

14 HE causeth grass to spring up for the cattle,

And herbs for the service of man.

He bringeth forth bread-corn out of the earth,

15 And wine which gladdeneth the heart of feeble man.

HE maketh his face to shine with oil,

And with bread doth He support the heart of feeble man. 16 The trees of JEHOVAH are supplied to the full,

Even the cedars of Lebanon, which He planted;

17 Wherein the birds build their nests.

The stork maketh the fir-trees her house;
