The Nature, Progress, and True Treatment of this Scourge of England. The following Cases are selected from the FOURTEENTH SERIES. CASE of a YOUNG LADY, communicated by Mr. J. E. BUTLER, 2, Albert-villas, St. LEONARD'S. In a letter dated May 6, this gentleman, a well-known resident of St. Leonard's, writes:-"I have recommended your medicine in many quarters, with good results; one especially, "A young lady, who lost a brother in Consumption and seemed likely to follow him herself. The doctor said nothing but a voyage to Australia could save her. I recommended your medicine, and am very pleased to tell you it was most successful, and her proposed voyage was no longer necessary. She is now quite well and strong. "You are quite welcome to make any use you please of my letter." CASE of Mrs. BROUGHTON, NORTH THORESBY, LOUTH. In July of last year I received particulars of this case from the patient's husband, a grocer at North Thoresby. It arose through seeing an article relative to my treatment in the Christian Age. The patient had been affected six months with a violent cough, shortness of breathing, and excessive weakness and pains in the side. Loss of flesh had been going on all over the body. I advised this patient fully by letter, and received a letter recently in which Mr. B. says:-"I am very pleased to say that after six months' taking your medicine Mrs. Broughton has quite recovered, and is now stronger and better than she has been for years." The following Article is from the "CHRISTIAN HERALD," Aug. 26: "Mr. G. T. CONGREVE "ON CONSUMPTION." "This interesting and remarkable treatise has reached a circulation of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND. There is no doubt that for the treatment of that terrible scourge, Consumption of the lungs, and other chest complaints, Mr. Congreve is a specialist of the first order, and stands unrivalled. He has proved his statement by the most commanding arguments, and, better still, by indisputable facts. The world and we ourselves owe him a debt of gratitude. Not long since we placed a young lady under his care, who has recovered her health, and we need only point to the cases Mr. Congreve is publishing-one every week-many of which had been given up as past all hope.' "The book, which contains a great deal of useful information, may be consulted in all cases of chest disease. We advise all who suffer to obtain it."
