Editorial Universitaria, 2009 - 191 páginas
Study of the industrial architectural heritage of the former Railway Ring of Santiago and the importance of saving these disappearing projects. Incorporating imaginative alternative uses for these buildings in many cases abandoned and obsolete, is a resource for sustainable development that incorporates the renewal of the areas where they are located, forming a cultural landscape and urban industrial character, while preserving the historic record. Architects Marcela Pizzi, Maria Paz Valenzuela and Juan Benavides Courtois, are academics from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Chile that have a long history of Chilean heritage protection including the industrial character in their work in the Department of History and Theory of Architecture.
