662 SWEET STORY 11 8 11 9 Irregular

English

9:4

I. I think when I read that sweet story of old, When

Jesus was here

a- mong men,

How He called little chil- dren as

lambs to His fold, I should like to

have been with them then. A-MEN.

2 I wish that His hands had been placed on my head,
That His arm had been thrown around me,

3

And that I might have seen His kind look when He said,
"Let the little ones come unto Me."

Yet still to His footstool in prayer I may go,

And ask for a share in His love;

And if I thus earnestly seek Him below,
I shall see Him and hear Him above.

4 In that beautiful place He has gone to prepare
For all who are washed and forgiven;

And many dear children shall be with Him there,
For of such is the kingdom of heaven.

5 But thousands and thousands who wander and fall,
Never heard of that heavenly home;

I wish they could know there is room for them all,
And that Jesus has bid them to come.

9:4 bb4

In Thy pleas-ant pas-tures feed us;

For our use Thy folds pre-pare:

Bless-ed Jesus, bless-ed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are,

Bless-ed Je- sus, bless-ed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

A-MEN.

2 We are Thine; do Thou befriend us, Be the Guardian of our way;

Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us,
Seek us when we go astray:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Hear the children, when they pray.

3 Thou hast promised to receive us,
Poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us,

Grace to cleanse, and power to free:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Early let us turn to Thee.

Early let us seek Thy favor;
Early let us do Thy will;
Blessed Lord and only Saviour,
With Thy love our bosoms fill:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Thou hast loved us, love us still.
