Airport of entry

Bryn Mawr Field, near Seattle, Wash., abolished as an airport of entry

COLLECTOR OF CUSTOMS, Seattle, Wash.

SIR: From reports and information received by the department, it appears that there is little or no air traffic between Bryn Mawr Field and foreign countries, and that there is no longer any necessity for continuing that place as an airport of entry.

Under the authority of section 7 (b) of the air commerce act of 1926, Bryn Mawr Field is hereby abolished as an airport of entry in your district, effective 30 days after issuance of this order.

The following changes have been made in the customs catalogue of books and blanks, Form No. 3037, since the issuance of T. D. 41639 of June 22, 1926. Customs officers are accordingly instructed to note the necessary changes in all copies of Form No. 3037 in use in their offices, thus bringing the said catalogue up to date.

ABOLISHED FORMS

Form 3055. Authority to publish advertisements.

Form 3057. Voucher for advertising. Above Customs Forms 3055 and 3057 abolished by department letter of August 1, 1928. Use standard Forms 1052,

1053, 1054, and 1054-A.

General

Form 4959. Public voucher for purchases and services other than personal. Superseded by standard Forms 1034, 1034-A, 1035, 1035–A, and 1036. Accounting Office, General Regulations No. 51, June 18, 1926.

AMENDED FORMS

Form 3003. Oath of office and personal history of employee, now used as "Oath of Office."

Form 3019. Application for leave of absence for less than one day, by omitting "2151 or" in footnote.

Form 3021. Changes in personnel, by omitting "no " in upper righthand corner. "Division" changed to "Bureau" of Customs in salutation. Column six under "changes recommended," the word "Designation" in subheading changed to "Pay-roll title."

Form 3043. Office requisition for supplies, by omitting "U. S. customhouse building" in the heading.

Form 3060-A. Proposal for supplies (for use at New York only), by substituting the words "Superintendent of Supplies and Service" for "Deputy Collector of Customs" and omitting the words "and further agree to furnish subsequently any additional quantities of the supplies listed as often as requested during the current fiscal year at the same prices, unless otherwise stated herein." The words "(Insert time required for delivery)" omitted. An additional line provided for "(Name and title of signer)" after line for name of "Bidder." Form 3062-A. Purchase order (for use at New York only) to be signed by "Deputy Collector" instead of by "Superintendent of Supplies and Service." Form 3063. Report of transactions, by general revision and changed from annual to monthly report. Also amended by changing the arrangement of lines 2, 3, 4, and 5 under "Treasury Receipts."

Form 3085. Letter of transmittal of application for reappraisement addressed "To the Chief Justice, U. S. Customs Court," instead of "To the President of the Board of U. S. General Appraisers."

Form 3167. Daily report to appraisers and others of arrival of vessels in foreign trade, by the addition of column four, headed "Manifest number."

Form 3193. General order to send unpermitted packages from wharf to public store, by striking out "Collection" in heading and making for signature of "Acting Deputy Collector" instead of "Collector."

Form 3289. Form of oath changed to read "Declare under oath" instead of "Do solemnly swear." Jurat made to read "Declared to under oath" instead of "Subscribed and sworn to." Affidavit to be declared to before "Acting Deputy Collector or Notary Public" instead of "Deputy Collector or Notary Public." Form 3291. Affidavit on entry of films and similar articles, by inserting in line 3, after the figures "192," "contain no matter repugnant to the principles of the United States Government and * * *.""

Form 3295. Affidavit of master and two members of crew on entry of products of American fis heries, by omitting the words "by me" in next to the last line of affidavit.

Form 3311. Affidavit for free entry of returned American products and American bags, by omitting the words "and American bags" in the title, also general revision of affidavit and jurat, and size of form increased to 8 by 101⁄2 inches.

Form 3347. Declaration of nominal consignee, purchaser or ultimate consignee, by printing declarations crosswise.

Form 3415. Equipment purchased for, or repairs made to, American vessel while at foreign ports, by changing jurat to read "Declared to under oath" instead of "Sworn to."

Form 3417. No equipment purchased for, or repairs made to, American vessel while at foreign ports. Title amended to read "affidavit for no equipment or supplies purchased for, or repairs made to, American vessel while at foreign ports." Jurat amended to read "Declared to under oath" instead of "Sworn to."

Form 3419. Entry of merchandise imported through the mails (duties). Instructions to postmasters on reverse side of original revised and form to be prepared in quadruplicate.

Form 3420. Entry of merchandise imported through the mails (duties) (for use at New York only), by revision of instructions to postmasters, printed on reverse side of original. Also by omitting line "Internal-revenue tax, act of November 23, 1921. -25" in the body of the form.

Form 3421. Entry of merchandise imported through the mails (fines), by omitting line showing internal-revenue tax paid. Instructions to postmasters on

reverse side revised, and form made in quadruplicate.

Form 3431. Notice to forward invoice for mail importation by the addition of a paragraph relative to having invoice forwarded by manufacturer or forwarding agents with future mail importations. There is a special print of this form for use of the appraiser of merchandise at Chicago, Ill.

Form 3439. Request to postmaster for report on disposition of mail packages, as to footnote, under column "Quantity and description of merchandise." Made for signature of "Acting Deputy Collector" instead of "Collector of Customs" and reduced in size to 51⁄2 by 934 inches.

Form 3485. Notice of lien for freight and affidavit of claimant, by omitting the word "collection" in salutation and affidavit to be sworn to before "Acting Deputy Collector" instead of "Deputy Collector."

Form 3509. Notification to consignee or addressee to make formal entry of mail importation, by general revision and to be made in quadruplicate.

Form 3517. Report covering mail importations for the quarter ending by general revision and by the omission of the words "Customs Form 3099" on the face of card, also by addressing the card to the Commissioner instead of the "Director" of Customs.
