sentatives of such countries might deem wise and proper. The countries concerned are seventeen in number, namely, the United States of America, and the republics of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. This would dispose of 340 copies.

Second. That ten copies be assigned to each of the delegates represented upon the Commission; to the Executive Officer, the Secretary, and the chiefs of the surveying parties. This would require 250 copies.

Third. That the remaining 1,800 copies available be distributed among the several countries in proportion to the amount of money that each has contributed towards the general fund of the Intercontinental Railway Commission, the total amount so contributed being, in round numbers, $300,000; the sums paid by each being indicated below:

The United States of America, including the further amount to be requested for the completion of this report and the final distribution, about $250,000; Brazil, $30,000; Colombia, $4,000; Guatemala, $3,600; Chile, $3,028.12; Ecuador, $3,000, besides an outlay of about $1,000 for transporting the surveying parties from Guayaquil to Quito, or a total of $4,000; Costa Rica, $2,000; Bolivia, $1,997.31. The proportionate allotment, disregarding minor fractions, would therefore be as follows:

Consequently, of these 1,800 copies there should be allotted to

Fourth. Under items one and three, as above stated, the number of copies to be distributed to the several countries would be as follows:

Fifth. That the United States Department of State be requested to distribute the 2,140 copies of the report in accordance with the scheme laid down in the preceding paragraph.

Sixth. That the State Department in making the distribution be requested to forward copies, so far as practicable, to those persons who had applied therefor, and whose applications have been approved by the Committee, the Secretary of the Commission to furnish a list of the same.

Seventh. That the Secretary of the Commission be charged with the distribution of the copies allotted under paragraph second.

Upon motion of a member, it was unanimously resolved that the Secretary be authorized and empowered to dispose of the balance of the Commission's property when no longer needed, at private sale or public auction, to the best interests of the Commission.

This being the final session of the Executive Committee, it was further resolved that the President of the Commission be authorized and empowered to henceforth take whatever steps might be necessary to complete the printing of the Executive Committee's report and to close out the affairs of the Commission.
