THE EVENING OF THE SABBATH Luke iv. 38-41. 38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. 39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. Luke iv. 38-41. 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them, suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. THE MOUNT OF BEATITUDES Luke iv. 42-44. he departed, and went into a desert place: and the people sought him and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. 43 And he said unto them, Matt. iv. 23.-v. 1. Mark i. 35-39. Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease, among the people. 24 And throughout all Syria they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. his fame went and 25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan. 1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain : and when he was set, his disciples came unto him. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. |
