Nos. 1 and 2, for Primary Classes, present a complete course of writing, including all the small letters and capitals.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COPY-BOOKS.

No. I.-The elementary books of the revised series is designed to give careful instruction and practice in writing all the letters of the alphabet one space in height. The book commences with the simplest letter, and progresses step by step through single letters to simple words of three letters. The size of letter allows the pupil to write with lead-pencil or pen; and it is intended for use in the primary writing classes of all schools. No. II. This book commences with an advanced combination of small letters, introducing stem and looped letters in natural order, and closes with a series of carefully arranged words, commencing with the capital letters in alphabetical order.

No. III. This book contains a selected series of words, beginning with the small and capital letters, systematically arranged, introducing all the more difficult and complex combinations of letters, and forms a complete review writing-book following Nos. 1 and 2.

No. IV.―This book is formed of copies arranged alphabetically, selected with great care, to introduce all the difficult. as well as beautiful combinations of letters, presenting at the same time a series of words of the greatest interest to the pupil. The entire book is composed of names of persons famous in the history of the world; thus affording, in each lesson, a subject for a valuable lecture by the teacher on biography to the class, while: monitors are arranging books, pens, and ink for the writing lesson.

No. V.―This book is composed entirely of selected sentences and words, affording abundant practice of a great. variety of capitals and words, forming an excellent drill-book in penmanship for classes of the highest grade in grammar schools.
