with old leaven, neither with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cor. v. 7.

Christ, being raised from the dead, dieth no more: death hath no more dominion over him. For, when he died unto sin, he died once for all: but, now he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive unto God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. vi. 9.

Christ hath been raised from the dead; and become the first fruits of them that are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as by Adam all die; even so by Christ will all be made alive. 1 Cor. xv. 20.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God;

Answ. Be honour and glory, through Jesus Christ, for ever and ever. Amen. Or,

Glory be to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God;

Answ. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Then

Then shall follow a Psalm or Psalms, to be read in alternate verses by the Minister and People, all standing: and at the close of the last shall be repeated one of the Doxologies: Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God;

Answ. Be honour and glory, through Jesus Christ, for ever and ever. Amen.

Or,

Glory be to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God;

Answ. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Then shall be read the First Lesson, taken out of the Old Testament; the Minister standing, the Congregation silling.

¶ After that let the following Hymn be read, in alternate verses; the Minister and the Congregation standing.

WE praise thee, O God; we acknowledge thee to be the LORD.

All the earth doth worship thee, the Father everlasting.

Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of thy glory.

The Christian church throughout all the world doth acknowledge thee;

The Father of an infinite majesty; the only God:

Also, thine honourable, true, and wellbeloved Son, Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent to be the Saviour of the world.

When he had overcome the sharpness of death, he opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers.

He sitteth at the right hand of God, in the glory of the Father.

Whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

We pray thee therefore, help thy servants, whom he hath redeemed from death:

Make them to be numbered with thy saints in glory everlasting.

O LORD, save thy people, and bless thine heritage.

Govern them and lift them up for ever.
Day by day we magnify thee.

And we worship thy name ever, world without end.

Vouchsafe, O LORD, to keep us this day without sin.

O LORD, have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us.

O LORD, let thy mercy shine upon us, as our trust is in thee.

O Lord,

6

TO LORD, in thee have we trusted, let us never be confounded.

Or,

Psalm CXLV.

I WILL extol thee, O God, my king; and I will praise thy name for ever

and ever.

2. Every day will I give thanks unto thee, and praise thy name for ever and

ever.

3. Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised his greatness is unsearchable.

4. Generation to generation shall cele→ brate thy works, and declare thy power.

5. They shall speak of thine honour, thy glory, thy praise, and wonderful works.

6. Men shall tell of the might of thy terrible acts, and discourse of thy greatness. 7. They shall largely commemorate thy great goodness; and shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

8. The LORD is gracious and merciful; slow to anger, and abundant in kindness. 9. The LORD is good unto every man, and his mercy is over all his works.

10. All thy works shall celebrate thee, O LORD;

O LORD; and thy saints shall give thanks unto thee.

11. They shall tell of the glory of thy kingdom, and speak of thy power;

12. That thy power, thy glory, and the mightiness of thy kingdom may be made known unto the sons of men.

13. Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

14. The LORD upholdeth all such as are falling; and lifteth up all those who are bowed down.

15. The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their food in due

season.

16. Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living creature. 17. The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and bountiful in all his works.

18. The LORD is near unto all those who call upon him; to all those who call upon him in sincerity.

19. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him; he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

20. The LORD preserveth all those who love him; but scattereth abroad all those who are wicked.
