The two Prayers following, for the Conversion of Israel, and for Missionaries, shall be read from time to time at the discretion of the Minister.

of Abraham,

and Jacob, look in mercy, we beseech Thee, upon the tribes of Israel, Thy chosen people; whom Thou hast, according to Thy threatened judgments, dispersed among the nations of the earth. Be pleased to take the veil from their hearts, and bring them to the knowledge of Jesus as their Messiah. Hasten the glorious time when He Who scattered Israel shall gather him, and Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit; and when, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, Thy Name shall be great among the Gentiles. Grant this for Thy dear Son's sake, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

wellbeloved Son hast given commandment to Thy servants to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature; Hear us, we beseech Thee, as now we call upon Thee in behalf of those our brethren who, in obedience to Thy word, have given themselves to the work and office of Missionaries, and are gone forth

to make known Thy truth in the dark places of the earth. Let Thy Fatherly hand be over them, protecting them from the many dangers to which they are exposed; and do Thou work with them by the mighty power of the Holy Spirit, and confirm the Word of the Gospel which they preach to the minds and consciences of those who hear them. In word and in life, in love and in faith, in purity and sincerity, may they ever be wholesome examples amongst those to whom they minister, and thus, through them, may Thy Name be magnified, and the kingdom of Thy dear Son be extended. Hear us, O heavenly Father, as thus we call upon Thee, for Thy dear Son's sake, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

To be read during their Session.

seech Thee, as for this Kingdom in general, so especially for the High Court of Parliament, under our Sovereign Lady the Queen at this time assembled: That Thou wouldest be pleased to direct and prosper all their consultations and proceedings to the advancement of Thy glory, the good of Thy Church, the safety, honour, and welfare of our Sovereign, and her Dominions; that all things may be so ordered and settled by their endeavours, upon the best and surest foundations, that peace and happiness, truth and justice,

religion and piety, may be established among us for all generations. These and all other necessaries for them, for us, and the whole Empire, we humbly beg in the Name and Mediation of Jesus Christ our most blessed Lord and Saviour. Amen.

GOD, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech Thee for all sorts and conditions of men; that Thou wouldest be pleased to make Thy ways known unto them, Thy saving health unto all nations. More especially we pray for the good estate of the Universal Church; that it may be so guided and governed by Thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life. Finally, we commend to Thy fatherly goodness all those, who are any ways afflicted, or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; (* especially those for whom our prayers are desired), that it may please Thee to comfort and relieve them, according to their several necessities, giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ His sake. Amen.

This to be said when any desire the Prayers of the Congregation.
