ET us consider one another to provoke

forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Heb. 24, 25.

X.

Thus saith the High and Lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is HOLY: I dwell in the High and Holy Place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah lvii. 15.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises to Thy Name, O Most High. Psalm xcii. 1.

Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm xcii. 13.

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him. Nahum i. 7.

The wages of sin is death; but the gift

of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. vi. 23.

By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Rom. iii. 20. Behold the Lamb of God, Which taketh away the sin of the world. John i. 29.

We have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Eph. i. 7.

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rom. v. 1.

The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what to pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom. viii. 26.

Minister. Our help is in the Name of the Lord, Who hath made heaven and earth. Answer. Let us seek His face, and lét us give unto Him the glory due unto His Name.

Minister. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord's Name is to be praised.

Answer. Praised be the Name of the Lord, from this time forth for evermore.

Minister. Hear, the sum of the Commandments of God, which our Divine Master hath given—

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and · with all thy mind. This is the first and great Commandment. And the second is

like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two Command-. ments hangeth the whole Law and the Prophets. Matth. xxii. 37-40.

And unto His disciples, Our Master Jesus hath given a New Commandment, saying, This is My Commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another. John xiii. 34, 35.

Dearly beloved brethren: Remembering how that daily we do fall short of these holy precepts, let us humble ourselves in the presence of the Lord, and confess unto Him all our sins with a sincere and repentant heart.

T Then all kneeling shall say,

LORD GOD, Eternal and Almighty Father, we acknowledge before Thy Divine Majesty that we are sinners, born in sin, inclined to evil, unable of ourselves to do any good thing. We have often broken Thy Holy Commandments, and thus have brought on ourselves Thy righteous sentence and condemnation; but we are sorry for our sins, and we turn to Thee, beseeching Thee to succour us in our distress. Have mercy upon us, O God, Father of mercies; and pardon all our sins, for the sake of Thy Beloved Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, and by the merit of His blood. Amen.

Then shall all say the Lord's Prayer, still kneeling humbly before God.

OUR

UR Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

Minister. Praise ye the Lord.

Answer. The Lord's Name be praised. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost;

Answer. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.

Then shall be said the Psalms, in the order in which they are appointed, at the close of each of which (or after the final one) may be repeated the Gloria.

Then shall be read by the Minister, or by one appointed by him, a Lesson of the Old Testament, the place thereof being first distinctly given. At the close the Minister and people all standing shall say,

O Lord, open Thou our eyes, that we may behold the wonderful things of Thy holy word.

¶ Then shall be said or sung the First Psalm or a suitable Hymn.

!

PSALM I.

Beatus vir, qui non abiit, &c.

BLESSED is the man that hath not

walked in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stood in the way of sinners: and hath not sat in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord: and in His law will he exercise himself day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the water-side: that will bring forth his fruit in due season.

His leaf also shall not wither: and look, whatsoever he doeth, it shall prosper.

As for the ungodly, it is not so with them but they are like the chaff, which the wind scattereth away from the face of the earth.

Therefore the ungodly shall not be able to stand in the judgment: neither the sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

But the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous and the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost;

Answer. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

:

Then shall be read a Lesson from the New Testament, at the close of which the Minister and people all standing shall say,
