3 Praise God from whom all blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below, Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

PSALM 118. c. M.

A song of triumph, celebrating the glorious victory of the Messiah.

1 THIS is the day the Lord has made;
He calls the hours his own;

Let heaven rejoice, let earth be glad,
And praise surround the throne.

2 To-day He rose, and left the dead,
And Satan's empire fell;

To-day the saints his triumph spread,
And all his wonders tell.

3 Blest be the Lord! who comes to men,
The messenger of grace,
Descending in his Father's name
To save our guilty race.

4 Hosanna! in the loftiest strains

The Church on earth can raise !

The highest heavens, in which He reigns, Shall yield him nobler praise.

PSALM 119. (1ST PART.) C. M.

The blessedness of keeping God's precepts. 1 How blest are they who always keep The pure and perfect way; Who never from the sacred paths Of God's commandments stray. 2 Thrice blest, who keep his righteous laws, And shun each wicked deed; Who by the guidance of his truth, With constant care proceed.

3 Thou strictly hast enjoined us, Lord! To learn thy holy will;

And all our diligence employ

Thy statutes to fulfil.

4 Grant, then, O Lord! that so thy will
May o'er our ways preside;
That we the course of all our life
May by thy precepts guide.

PSALM 119. (2D PART.) C. M.

The excellence of the word of God.

1 How shall the young preserve their ways
And guard their lives from sin?
Thy word, O Lord! the way imparts
To keep the conscience clean.

2 With my whole heart for Thee I seek,
To Thee for succour pray;

O suffer not my careless steps
From thy right paths to stray.

3 Safe in my heart, and closely hid,
Thy word, my treasure, lies;
To succour me with timely aid,
When sinful thoughts arise.

4 Thy word is everlasting truth ;
How pure in every page!
Oh! may it guard our earliest youth,
And cheer our latest age!

PSALM 119. (3D PART.) C. M.
For spiritual guidance.

10 THAT the Lord would guide my ways, To keep his statutes still!

O that my God would grant me grace
To know, and do his will!

2 Send down thy Spirit, Lord! to write
Thy law upon my heart;
Nor let my tongue indulge deceit,
Nor act the liar's part.

3 Order my footsteps by thy word,
And make my heart sincere,
Let sin have no dominion, Lord!
But keep my conscience clear.

4 Make me to walk in thy commands,
'Tis a delightful road!

Nor let my head, nor heart, nor hands,
Offend against my God.

PSALM 119. (4TH PART.) C. M.

Sanctified affiiction declared to be a blessing.

1 'Tis good for us, most gracious Lord!
To feel thy chastening rod :
Afflictions make us learn thy law,
And bring us near to God.

2 Had not thy word been our delight
When earthly joys were fled,
Our souls, oppressed with sorrow's weight,
Had sunk among the dead.

3 We know thy judgments all are right,
Though some may seem severe;
The heaviest sufferings we endure
Flow from thy faithful care.

4 Before we felt thy chastening hand,
Our feet were wont to stray;
But now we keep thy holy word,
And love to tread thy way.

PSALM 119. (5TH PART.) C. M.
The word of God our best heritage.

1 LORD! I have made thy word my choice, My lasting heritage;

There shall my noblest powers rejoice,
There my best thoughts engage.

2 I'll read the records of thy love,
And keep thy word in sight;
While through thy promises I rove,
With ever-fresh delight.

3 'Tis a broad land of wealth unknown, Where springs of life arise;

Seeds of immortal bliss are sown,
And hidden glory lies.

4 Open our eyes to see, O Lord!
The wonders it displays;
O let us live and keep thy word,
And walk in all thy ways.

PSALM 119. (6TH PART.) C. M.
For divine support under affliction.

1 To my request, and earnest cry
Attend, O gracious Lord!
Inspire my heart with heavenly skill,
According to thy word.

2 Let my repeated prayer at last
Before thy throne appear;
According to thy plighted word,
For my relief draw near.

3 Then shall my grateful lips return
The tribute of their praise,
When Thou thy counsels hast revealed,
And taught me thy just ways.

4 My tongue the praises of thy word
Shall thankfully resound,

Because thy promises are all
With truth and justice crown'd.
