Jas. 5.11.

Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

RESURRECTION. Job 14.12. Man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. 13. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! 14. If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. 15. Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

Job 19.25. I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: 26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: 27. Whom shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

Psa. 16.9. My heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Psa. 17.15. As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

Psa. 49.15. God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive

me.

Isa. 25.8. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces.

Isa. 26.19. Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Eze. 37.12. Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. v. 1-14.

Dan. 12.2. Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 13. Go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Hos. 13.14. I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction.

Mat. 27.52. The graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53. And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Luk. 14.14. Thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Luk. 20.35. They which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36. Neither can they die

any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. 37. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living for all live unto him. Mat. 22.30-32. Mar. 12.25-27.

Jno. 11.23. Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Act. 17.32. When they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

8. The

Act. 23.6. I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.

Act. 24.15. There shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Act. 26.8. Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

Rom. 4.17. God, who quickeneth the dead.

Rom. 8.19. The earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 21. The creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 23. Not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

1 Cor. 6.14. God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

1 Cor. 15.32. What advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. 40. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 42. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43. It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory : it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1 Cor. 15.46. That was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 48. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

1 Cor. 15.52. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal

last day. 54. Whoso cateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

shall have put on immortality, then shall be | me draw him: and I will raise him up at the brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. v. 12-54. 2 Cor. 1.9. We had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead.

2 Cor. 5.1. A building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2. Earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3. If so be that being clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

2 Cor. 13.4. We shall live with him by the power of God.

Eph. 4.30. Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Phil. 3.11. If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Col. 3.4.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

1 The. 4.14. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15. We which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

2 Tim. 2.18. Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of

some.

Heb. 6.2. The doctrine of, rection of the dead.

resur

Heb. 11.35. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection.

Rev. 20.6. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection : on such the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. 13. The sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead' which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

RESURRECTION. BY CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. Jno. 5.21. As the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. 25. The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 28. The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Jno. 6.39. This is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 44. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent

"I

Jno. 11.25. ain the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

Jno. 14.19. Because I live, ye shall live also.

Act. 4.2. They preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

Rom. 8.10. If Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11. If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

1 Cor. 15.23. Every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

2 Cor. 4.14. He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

Phil. 3.21. Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

2 Tim. 1.10. Our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Rev. 1.18. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Ecc. 2.24. There is nothing better for a man, than that lie should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

Ecc. 3.12. There is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. 13. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. 22. There is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion. Ecc. 5.18.

It is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion. 19. Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. 20. For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart. Ecc. 7.11.
