VDY This comprehensive work, based upon lectures delivered to British air officers "sets forth in clear and concise language all that the student needs to know in the preliminary stages of his work and leads him in an interesting manner into more advanced studies." Has chapters on seaplanes, meteorology, instruments, bomb-dropping, wireless telegraphy, and aerial photography. The preface, written in October, 1918, states that the work was produced under rigid censorship. 64. The Times, London. The British aircraft industry, its industrial and commercial potentialities. These chapters, by leading authorities on every branch of the subject, give a brief but general account of the history and development of the airplane, and were written more to interest the general reader in probable developments than to weary him with technical details. They were not written for the expert, but for the average business man whose interests, though not directly concerned with the aircraft industry, can scarcely fail to be affected by this new and wonderful means of transportation.
